Yes, I did a search. I run a Full-Race AC Manifold, and I can't get a air filter on there. I have been told by some people they have actually gained horsepower from just putting a tube on the compressor housing rather than just a mesh screen. Right now I am just running some mesh screen used for screen doors and windows. I have not had the chance to experiment on the dyno if any of these statements are true. I figured there is enough people on honda-tech that I can get a pretty good idea of what will might work.

Right now the compressor is sucking all that hot air from the radiator. I figured that I might benefit from either a air filter or relocating the outlet and getting some better air in. I'm sure that fan is sucking some nasty *** air.

So are their any power gains either way? If a filter works out well, what filter is not restricting. If I do plan on putting a pipe or filter on, I will have my friend cut off the compressor outlet and tig weld a angle to it so I can stick some piping of some sorts onto it.

Here it is right now. You can see the angle on the compressor and see where it's getting its air.

well, where else do you plan to run the tubing so that it doesn't suck air off the radiator? Maybe it's just a bad camera angle, but it looks like a very tight fit already...

I don't know, run the pipe to the headlight. I am sure I can get a pipe on the compressor outlet. Just seeing if their are any gains from getting rid of the mesh. I have ran the mesh screen in the past with no problems. Just curious.

PM Geoff. I talked to him about this non-collapsing plastic hose stuff that you can bend in all sorts of odd angles for use on the AC kit, probably a good 6-8 months ago.

i had mesh on mine....when i was on the dyno...tony1 took it off...he said hes seen people lose power from that mesh...he said its better to leave it open or best of all get a filter on it...im workin on mine...im usin the pipe from a drag kit...fits pretty good...

I don't have a back to back dyno comparison or anything, but my car felt noticeably better with a tube and filter then it did with the screen. My filter sits behind the radiator very close to the bottom of the car.....

Can you get any more pictures of the space you have to work with? We had to get an air filter on a T4 GT3767S on a Full Race exhaust manifold in a DA Integra. We ended up using a new style K&N air filter. I will try to get pictures of it this weekend.

I've seen pretty big losses with a screen alot of times. "John D" on here picked up like 30 something hp from removing the screen when we tuned his car!

So if i have a top mount mani and there is not much room for filter, would i be better to modify stuff (headlight) to get a small tube on it and a filter? The path to the turbo would not be very strait. How bad would that effect power? 4"inlet.

i really wouldnt worry about having another bend on your turbo setup, i mean think about it, it makes a 90, another 90, a 180, another 90, another 90, and then like a 45...if i were you, i'd try to run a 4" pipe up to an opening somewhere (if that has to be a "modified headlight), even if its not a big opening, the turbo will suck air through, and whatever it doesn't get from there, it will pull from somewhere else...Depending on where you live, having it pick up air from below your car might not be the best idea...(living in florida and sucking up some water=not good). You could just be gangsta and cut a hole in your hood, or have a snorkel setup

This was taken before the mani was finished but thats pretty much where it sits. I'm keeping powersteering too, might make it tricky to fit filter. I don't think i can find a sharp 4" bend to work, maybe make a sectional intake for it? How bad is it to run without filter?

The space in your bay looks reaaly tight. I recently had my intake modified and the filter was relocated next to my headlight. An option can be done with removing my headlight.

i'm gonna build a ram air kind of thing for the track that involves the headlight, but anyother time i'm screwed right now.

I am most likely going to remove my C&R Radiator fan and mount it on the front. I am going to have to make some custom brackets, but it shouldn't pose a problem. I really wanted to leave the fan where it was at, but ohh well.

Cant u just get like a normal short ram intake and run it to where its under ur radiator?

Nope, the fan is right in front of the compressor. Trust me, there isn't any room.

I have the exact same issue with my setup, I ran a mesh screen for a while that was clamped down pretty tight.... I ended up sucking in the mesh one night after hitting boost A LOT.... Im also looking for alternatives cause at the moment Im not running any sort of filter.... My fan shrowd is almost touching the turbo inlet.

Well unlike most aftermaket fans, the C&R fan is actually mounted on the radiator with screws..not with zip ties. There are no mounts on the other side of the radiator to mount the fan. That looks like the only option, so I am going to make a bracket setup so I can have the fan bolt onto the otherside of the radiator. That will give me plenty of room to attach some piping and a filter onto the turbo. After I get it all mounted, I just have to rewire it as a pusher fan.

Here is the filter we used. We thought we had no room for a filter. B16a, DA Integra chassis, Full Race exhaust manifold and a T4 GT3767S turbocharger. K&N had a solution for us.

I had no problem running a filter on my old setup. Which was a non AC T4 Full-Race manifold.

You can see the filter in this picture on my old setup. It's a filter made by Vibrant Performance.

bodykits....look into a 3" donut from roadraceengineering.com, this is the tightest mandrel bent pipinng you can get, if you ran a small piece from the turbo, and it curved back towards tranny, it would go around the fan. I had to do this on mine, I'll see if I can some pics soon.

I had to cut just a hair off the fan housing to make the bend fit.

I didn't like having the fan as a pusher fan, for me, it didn't seem like it worked as good.

My setup is identical to yours.
