Default Mechanical Oil pressure readings this sound right?

Well just finished installing my autometer oil pressure gauge its mechanical. The damn thing seems to sit on 10psi rather then 0 which does **** me off but anyway.

Engine is a Zc sohc or d16a6 I am getting 80psi at idle when cold, around 30 psi at idle when hot and when really beating on it went down to 20 psi at idle.. It will go right round to about 90psi at WOT and seems to sit around 50-60 psi under light throttle but it doesn't take much more throttle to get it heading off towards 80 psi .

Just wondering is this normal I guess having the gauge 10 psi up from the start will make the readings 10 psi higher then they actually are.

Anything to worry about? I tried a search and there lots of replies just looking for confirmation.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Hella_JDM &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">sound pretty normal to me....</TD></TR></TABLE> I am guessing the problem with the autometer gauge is fairly common? So having highish oil pressure is not really a problem, be worried when you put your foot down and the oil pressure doesn't come up right?

damn autometer gauges. I got a boost gauge that read off by 5psi and just returned it for a VDO gauge.
