Default May Be a Stupid Question, but is a to4e 50 trim bigger than a 57 trim??

some one is telling me that is how the scale works, and im kinda hinking he is wrong.. please explain the differences so i can back my opinion up!!! thanks

i think it is actually a ratio of the inside to outside diameter of the wheel or some ****.

The compressor trim is the squared ratio of the smaller diameter divided by the larger diameter multiplied by 100 of the compressor wheel. The smaller diameter of the wheel is the inducer, and the larger diameter of the wheel is the exducer.

inducer^2/exducer^2 x 100

its just a ratio, a .50 trim can be bigger than a .57

ok, im starting to catch on, so all it is is the relation of the smaller inducer, in comparison to the larger exducer, so in a way the ratio of the air it takes in compared to what it actually uses?

yes in a sense... it isnt in relation of a smaller inducer, its in relation to both the inducer and exducer.....
