Maxed out 720cc injectors at 12lbs?????
Just a question we have going around the shop.........has anyone maxed out 720cc injectors on a 84mm B18C at 12lbs of boost with 91oct with a 255 LPH fuel pump? just want to see if anyone has done this or if its even possable...
or maxing out 440cc injectors on a 81.5mm B18C5 with 10lbs of boost with a 255lph fuel pump?
Both setups using Hondata s200

well i dont think you would be maxing out the 720cc at that low of boost, the 440 i could see if you have a monster turbo or something making like 375 whp at that psi level.

my duty cycle in the 9x% range, 85mm lsvtec on 11psi, 720cc @ 50psi 255lph walbro, hondata s200b.
next up for me is new lines, keeping the same pump, maybe ill change the pump, but we shall see how $$ is. i think with new lines the duty should drop a lil bit.

The problem im seeing is that both these setups have been tuned by a local hondata tuner and he has the injectors set to 100% and the fuel pressure on the 440cc setup is at 60lbs.......Im trying to figure out why he did this and how or why he maxed out the 720cc with only 12lbs of boost......it doesnt make sense? anythoughts?

lemme guess DSR, same here....i dunno, i think hes half ***, ppl on this board love him, shrugg, good thing im in so cali now, and have some REAL tuners

720's should be good for over 450hp... i dont see any honda maxing them out with 12psi..
is the vac line attached to the FPR?? make sure that it is.
10psi could very well max out 440's, those are usually good to about 300ish

After 3 pulls on the street....its loading up with fuel on the low and leaning on the top....we built the engine but we did not do the tuning...and the car ran ok before it went in for tuning, and he was not given an A/F readout. Oh and one more thing.....When you tune a car, do you tell the customer that he needs bigger injectors and not to go over 5k rpm for more then 5 seconds, but you can boost 10lbs and it will be fine?
oh and I stand corrected on the 720cc setup, he is using 680cc...but still to max them out at 12lbs is still not right.
I believe that both of these setups are seeing detonation and putting stress on the top rod bearing. anybody Else have any thoughts?

I can see maxing 680cc with a MONSTER turbo - GT30, GT32, GT40, T3/T67, HX35, etc. on a big bore motor with serious headwork and aggressive cams.
The rich low / lean high thing just sounds like shitty tuning to me. Find a new tuner.

680CC setup- ITR cams, CTR head, JG victor X iM, CP pistons, probe.rods, 2.0 liter sleeved GSR motor, hondata s200B, walboro 255LPH pump, standard garrett t3t4 .60 trim with . 63 A/R turbine, stage 3 turbine wheel.
44CC set up- sleeved ITR motor, cP pistons, eagle rods, i think its sitll 1.8 liter. FMax turbo ste up with precision SC61

Excellent point. The available MS to pulse the injectors diminishes fast as RPM rises.
Available MS for 90% duty cycle:
6000 18.0ms
6500 16.62ms
7000 15.43ms
7500 14.4ms
8000 13.5ms
8500 12.71ms
9000 12.0ms
The fact that alot of boosted B's can carry an almost flat torque line up to 8500ish just compounds the problem.

the 440cc setup where it's melting the plugs is my car...
I switched out the wg spring to a 7lb one, and even at 3 pulls its melting the plugs...
