max whp with single walbro 255

trying to see if its possible to achieve 600whp on a single walbro pump. what would the fuel pressure need to be set at? I also have 1000cc injetors.

Im not sure but i think on 1000cc injectors 550whp depending on the setup. I think if your going for 600whp you need to go up to 1600cc's or another pump.

Depends on the dyno, but I have def seen a few cars with 1000's and a 255 make it over 600hp.

well i definately know you can make more than 550 on 1000cc, i was wondering if it was just gona be putting to much stress on the pump, im getting a bosch 044 inline, but wont have it in time for the track next weekend.

My builder made over 600whp single intank walboro, RC 1000cc this was a b16a stock bore/stroke.

A friends 2.0L gsr made 628 on a 255 and 1000, with stock FPR and FR. And thats on the stock fuel pump wiring. At the shop I used to work at we made over 670 on a single 255 with 1600's and thats with 10 gauge power wire with a relay. And both cars had more in them. So 600 would be OK anything more then that you can try like we did. That was on a dynojet also.

If fuel pressure is stable, you can easily make over 650whp on 1000cc injectors, on gas. The walbros will vary in output quite a bit when pushed to the limits. I've seen issues at 550whp and i've seen some hold pressure well to 650whp. Past 550whp i'd recommend adding a Bosch inline pump. You never want to run at the limits of your fuel system.

yes thats why i purchased the 044 pump, but wont be able to install it before this weekend before the track. I have upgraded wiring on the walbro.

The upgraded wiring on the walbro is a good move. If you tune it with the walbo above 600whp then you will probably have to touch it up once you add the bosch inline. It'll probably richen up. No biggie, just a heads up.

Just to make it clear, when you upgrade the wiring, you upgrade to a new relay using 10 gauge or so between the battery and pump w/ an inline fuse and using the stock relay as the hot switch?

well i dont run a relay inline with the wiring. its wired directly to the battery and its been this way over a yr now and no issues.
