depends on the turbo as each kit may come with a different turbo. The 18G most people say around 18psi is the maxium efficency.

how much hp and torque would the 18g put out on a gsr at about 14 psi? what about lag, isnt that considered a small turbo?

Kind of hard to say. The 18G is not a small turbo, on the medium side i would say. It depends on the engine management system and the exhaust setup.

let me ask you this, you are thinking about the greddy kit for legal purposes since you live in CA right? but the IC and bov makes it illegal. But the greddy 18g is a nice kit, just not the blue box.

I would love to keep my car as legal as possible, (makes it sound like im a bitch) but i already got rolled having, "modified emissions" and it took alot of time and money to pass through the smog referee, no fun.

how does the ic and bov make it illegal? what do u mean by blue box? I heard rev hard makes a really good kit.

BOV makes it illegal because you are technically dumping air/gases into the atmosphere. As for the I/C I am not sure why but one could guess that it was not certified with the kit when certification was done at the air research board. Blue box is Greddy's solution of controlling the RC 310 injectors included with the kit along with intercepting signals from the MAP sensor to the ECU so no check engine light is thrown. Hope this helps.

If anyone has more insight on why the FMIC would technically void CARB exemption please feel free to elaborate.

what all of this means though.....is that you can't boost very high because you will have high intake temps and bad compressor surge if you boost too high w/o bov or intercooler. So....I don't have personal experience w/ how much boost you can run with out either of these, but I would say 7 or 8 maybe????

People have said they have boosted anywhere from 7-12 psi on the blue box. From personal experience I couldn't go any higher than 9 psi without detonation and I have the type 31 FMIC.
