max bore wanted on a sleeved turboed b16a
alright ive searched... figued i should since i tell ppl to all the time
i plan on getting my b16a block sleaved for when i turbo it, and wanted to know what size bore would be best for it.
should i just go max and crank up the displacement, keep it stock bore, or put it somewhere in the middle.
my logic says go like 85, but then again i dont have nething to base this on so i dont know, and would the cooling jackets get to small going this big? thanks

84mm seems to be a popular choice. Lots of people will tell you to use caution going 85-86, but its your car. Piston selection becomes more difficult with those larger bores as well.

Me too now! I have had 84.5 then 85mm. Of course when I have to rebuild I will overbore to 84.5mm and new pistons or coat the existing pistons.

Benson has an 86mm b16 sleeve available. It is done by using Prelude sleeves and lots of precision machine work.

thanks for the info all
and as soon as i start to get some cash together and start my build you can expect my business earl =D
so what im gathering is the bigger the bore the better?
what about the cooling jackets getting too small? or is it a non-concern with something like 85 or 86?
edit: ive looked into running arias low compression pistons and they stock the biggest size of 84.5
i know i can go custom, but that would be really pricey im assuming (as if building an engine isnt)
so do you all know who may stock a 85 bore or even an 86? ive looked but cant find ne from wisco, je, cp, etc. thanks
