Stop yelling #1, and the only legit way to pass would be returning it to stock or close enough to where the ECU won't throw codes and where you are burning clean. That or pay someone to cheat it.

Yeah but since his is obd2 and they hook up a scan tool...if his ecu doesn't have any error codes or something..or if everything is reading ok ..I believe it should pass...I'm guessing though because I haven't taken my tl for emissions since I got my turbo installed.

if its properly tuned it should pass but clear any old stored codes, just becauze the cel is not on dosent mean theres not codes stored in the ecu

all your car needs to do is pass all the obd 2 readiness codes in the ecu. Pay it through, it will be a lot easier

as long as the tune is right you shouldnt have any problems with with emissions,skunk2 has had engines pass california emissions with no catalytic converter its all in the tune

i would say the only problem here is the obd2 part. i passed in MD with my revhard kit, tuned by j-k-tuning on uberdata a few months ago. im obd1 and they put me on the rollers and i had no problems.

but in your case you will need to go back to stock obd2 ecu and injectors. you could probably leave the turbo on but you would want to make sure it isnt gonna see ANY boost on the stock ecu. (maybe pull the wastegate spring) and from what ive heard obd2 takes a while to "calibrate" itself meaning you might have to drive around for a few hundred miles or something for everything to be ok before going for emissions.

do you have coilovers? if so, give me a call at 301 638 3000 and i'll tell you where to go where they will give you a 2 year exemption every time. if not....its not uncommon for them to pass people for 50 bucks.

i really dont think you need to take the turbo off. just toss on the stock ecu and injectors for a few days and i think you are straight. but like i said pull out the wg spring so you dont see any boost.

or just listen to turbo-charged he seems like he can get you "passed" pretty easily.
