Manley Lightweight rods, how much power?

I was going to order up some manley turbo tuff rods for my sohc and when I was on the phone with the manley import rep, he pointed me in the direction of the lightweight I Beam rod because it can handle 500whp and is 100g then the turbo tuff rods. I went ahead and ordered up the lightweight rods because of what the rep told me. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the manley lightweight rods and if so, how much power they have seen them handle. Did i make the right decision. Thanks,

Pfieff

I believe the lightweight rods are for all motor. If you know that you are not going make 500 hp then buy them.

Yea, that is what I thought, but the rep told me that unless I was making over 500whp, I wouldn't need them. Hmmmm

they will be fine, especially if you stick with your greddy kit.

I thought all manley rods were generally lighter than other rods in the same class..... being crower/pauter ect.....

I'm looking into manley rods for my setup as well.

Pauters are lighter than the Manleys by like 50 grams. I'm talking about the LS rods others may be different.

i would just get the turbo rods, who cares about that extra little weight in the rotating mass anyway https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Well, I went with the lightweight rods, I'll have to put them to the test.
