Mandrel bent vs bent downpipes

Is there really that much of a difference between mandrel bent and mechanically bent downpipes?

Re: Mandrel bent vs bent downpipes (motormike40)

Mandrel flows a bit more than crush bent pipes

So it wont be day and night difference then.

I'm guessing a few more HP out of a mandrel bent DP.

Cool thanks man.

night and day.... dont cheap out on exhaust or a DP, you will regret it....

pipes are cheap to buy, then just mock them up and get them welded, its not hard....

mandrel >>>>> crush bent

In backwoods Wisconsin, its cheaper AND easier to get anything from 1" to 4" mandrel bent from ebay than from some small muffler shop or a 'big name' retailer.

Mandrel bends are also 10x easier to use in non-typical angles. You can save money with a single 180 mandrel than two 90 crush bends. You can make sevaral elbows with various angles with the 180, yet you're basicly stuck with 90* bends with the crushed junk.

Thats on top of flowing much better. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
