Major issues. Car won't rev past 4800 under load. long list.
Problem Solved
So I haven't posted on here in YEARS first off. Glad to be back however I'm having major problems with my car that I have never encountered in the tuning world. My car ran great with a stock z6 and spun a rod bearing. I swapped in another z6 with dsm 450's and a turbo setup. SAME engine harness, SAME car. The car will not build power over 3k and does a limiter past 4800 under more than quarter throttle. SAME rpm every time. It bounces a pig rich air fuel and hits a soft limiter(no popping). It will rev fine past there under part throttle. NO CODES. NO CEL. Doesn't matter where vtec is set.. Here is what we have tried... using a DVM and a HELMS and a few brains lol. I'm about ready to part the car out. We have been working on this problem for days.
SETUP
stock z6
a fresh set of dsm injectors that were from a company off ebay
topmount
T3 ebay turbo
open downpipe
38mm gate
TRIED
-Fixed all boost leaks (including checking blow off valve and doing some small leak tests as well as all the couplers)
-Tried multiple maps with uberdata and crome on a known working tuned ecu. The maps a/f is fine (innovate lm1 coupled with an lma3).
-Checked grounds and grounded down to bare metal on motor side
-Checked TPS voltages
-Checked coil, ignitor, plug wires, cap, rotor, plugs.
-Checked all injector wires
-Replaced stock map sensor with another one.
HAVENT TRIED
-Fuel pump
-Fuel filter
-FPR
-Injectors
Any help at all is highly appreciated as I'm pulling hair out right now. I'm at whits end lol. Thanks.

When you say "checked plug wires" what did you do exactly? I popped a sleeve on my motor back in 2006 and it took till last summer for me to put it back on the road. I was having the same issue with boost. For me, it was happening around 5,000. I was seeing about 20psi at 5,000 and it was like a rev limiter. I too tried everything. Then I closed the gap on my plugs slightly. It got a little better. IGNITION! I tried a new coil. Still there. Different igniter. Still there.
Then I bought some new plug wires (NGK blues). I was planning on returning them because there was no way the Magnecor 8.5mm racing wires that had maybe 1,000 miles on them were bad. I shrank my plug gap a bit more, went out for a drive, got into boost and it broke up again. Stopped at the side of the road right then and there, changed the plug wires and it was fixed.

We used a DVM and measured resistance across each wire. They are new wires but not oem. I'm going to an oem set. Thanks! I swapped disi's and now it's limiting at 4400 with retarded timing. So it has to be ignition related like you said. It's like timing isn't there past 3k and boost won't build.

For anybody out there having a similar problem it turned out to be a loose valve train and cam!!! I'm amazed. Never thought to check it since I bought the head and just threw it on the block without checking anything other than head bolt torque. CHECK THESE THINGS. take it from me lol. I offed the car.
