interesting that most of us are running 57 or 60 trim t3/t4's. on the gen2 site, they seem to be big into the 60 trim t3 with .63 exhausts

Which do you guys think would be the better street turbo for a B18b1 with a GSR tranny, Straight T3 Super 60 .63a/r or T3/T4 57 trim .48a/r? I am looking for some thing thats gonna reach full boost below or at 4K rpm and not drop off too badly reving to redline.

What size intercooler are you all running? I am debating between the 6" JRC black anodized or the 8" JRC black anodized (preparing for future 84mm LS setup).

my friend ran a T3 on his and he was getting full boost bout 3200-3500
i personally think the t3t4 will best suit the motor so that later on down the line the turbo can still support the motor

Yeah i think the Straight T3 would be a good turbo but im fearing that it will drastically fall off up top (even with the stock redline on an LS). I am planning a 2.0L Ls build-up for next year which i will change out the mani from whatever i have (log or mini-me style) to a ram-horn style with a bigger turbo thats able to support 400whp. When do you think i would be able to reach full boost on a T3/T4 57trim .48a/r?

What do you guys think of the SC50 from precision?

What are the benefits of running 2" charge piping from the turbo to the IC and then 2.5" from the IC to the TB?

all you guys give me hope to pulling some SICK torque numbers when i get it finished up.

oh yea and the JRC are good FMIC i love it....

T3/T4 57trim .48a/r? should reach full boost around 3600 i would think since i get full boost at 3900ish with my 60 trim

so it seems 10psi is the norm for stock LS's, do you think 300whp or close to it is a high goal for a stock LS?

What size JRC do you have and do you think going with the 8" will cause any extra lag or pressure drop?

Maybe i should look at the 60 Trim T3/T4 with a .48a/r, wouldnt that flow a little more cfm and still have a very low spool time?

the sc50 is a 50 trim t3/t4 which has a very nice compressor map, as does the 57 trim. if you are running a gsr tranny then i dont see the concern for quick spool. i shift at redline and drop back into gear at 5000 rpms, so basically as long as you are spooled by then you should be golden.

i would go with a 50 trim t3/t4 over the t3.

what sized injectors are appropriate for an ls running say 10 or 15 psi. i assume because the motor does not rev as high as vtec motors it can run smaller injectors. is this correct?

Ah so basically the SC50 is the T3/T4 50 trim, any differences at all? I remember reading that the 50 trim and 57 trim have almost identical spool times so would i be better off getting the 57 for the extra flow? My buddy is selling an SC50 rite now for $900CDN obo and i can prolly get it for cheaper but im wondering if it will be able to support over 350whp later on?

The reason im concerned with having a quick spool is i usually cruise at around 2000-3000rpm and id like to be able to stomp on the gas almost whenever and have pretty much instant boost instead of having to wait till 4500-5000rpm to start really moving.

Would you take the 50 trim over the 57 trim and what a/r on the hotside would u go with?

Approximately 2300 lbs without me and I weigh about 195. I have no doupt that I could have run mid 12's on DR's and low 12's on slicks. Keep in mind this was on a stock clutch and stock suspension.

I loved my T3TO4E and I was running a JRC 8" spray painted black. See my previous post for times. Once I ran the 12.9, I turned the boost up to around 15 lbs, but my clutch to a **** when I launched, so I puttered home and wound up selling the car a week later.

well you could go with the 57 trim and .48 a/r for now, then when you build up your motor just switch to a .63 turbine housing.

you will have some pretty good traction issues if you are hitting full boost at like 3500 rpms. as it sits now, if i just go from like 20mph in 2nd gear and floor it, by 5k my tires are peeling very loudly, and i continue to sping w/o moving foward much. if im racing, i cant bang 2nd or 3rd really, and have to ease into full throttle or i will just spin and kinda slide sideways. this is on street tires by the way

did you have any issues with painting the intercooler black? I was just gonna use BBQ paint or find a paint that doesnt hold the heat in as much as a regular paint would.

Was your 57 Trim a .63 or .48 hotside? When did you see full boost approx and what mani were u running?

so you think i would be better just sticking with the .63 57 trim or even 50 trim?

The car drives on 17x7.5 rims and im probably gonna be upgrading to some nicer tires once its boost, do u still think ill have issues hooking up on the street?

hmmm so SC50 or pick up a 57 trim i guess is the question aswell as what hotside i should stick with.

.63 AR, and I used regular old flat black paint. Full boost depended on gear...1st and second was practiaclly non existant due to no traction.
I was running the mani in my avatar.

Neukin ramhorn style manifold
Garrett T3/T04e .63/.60 57 trim (360 thrust bearings)
2.5" charge piping
JRC IC
TurboXS RFL BOV

303whp 260trq at 16PSI - many may say "why such high PSI?" and I answer "That's because I don't want my motor to blow on my stock internals " and if you don't understand why running less timing and more PSI is better, then search .
