I used to have catch can filling up real fast, issues. When I had fittings rite off the back of the block. Now I switch to using the black box with 2 barb fitting I put in top of it,. And then run that to my catch can. Now I hardly get any oil in can. This wouldn't wrk if u don't have the black box. Some blocks don't, Box acts As baffle def worked wonders for me

OK guys question I'm going to be running the garret Gt40r turbo which is good up to 700hp .. Now my question is I was going to order the new SKunk 2 manifold but notice they got 3 different versions and the only two . I'm trying to chose between is the 4.5 liter which is 600-800 or the 5.5 liter which is 800-1000+hp.. Now for now I was going to run that turbo but when I get bored I was going to order the Garret Gt42r which is closer to 1000 hp.. now for the manifold I wanna know if I just bought the best manifold meaning the 5.5 liter will it kill my top end since it's rated at 800-1000 hp and I'll only be around 630 hp safely ( I'm Guessing) .. Because I didn't want to get the 4.5 Liter then when I go bigger turbo I gotta get another manifold because those manifolds are not cheap at all.. WHat do you guys think ? I'm going to call skunk 2 IN the am but just wanted some feedback from my squad and this will be a built sleeved 84.5mm block with 4piston or mission critical outlaw head jobs.. Because my motto is I already got my feet wet with 250hp for little over a year .. Now I'm just going to go out and ***** to the wall..

question: can i get some peoples opinion on what to do to an LS if ur only shooting for 250-300whp? headstuds? block guard? rod bolts? rings? which of these if any would be the most important? any other suggestions? thanks ahead of time.

My friend has a GT4094R on his stock sleeve, forged piston rod, cammed K20. its fine on the street, but it flows so much better than our b18a/b mind you.

I would say you could run a 67mm turbo but you will be talking a small, nasty powerband up top with a decent turbo lag.

Its all in what you want to do. For the manifold question, I doubt you'll ever see 1000 horsepower. I think I would go with the 4.5L for more streetability.

And I've already seen 850 hp on our old cars.. So this being my own car it will def see in the future 1000hp but I was going to go with the 4.5L and when I went bigger turbo and lighten the car up. They got an adaptor I can use to make it work like the 5.5L

I don't know if you got my previous post but I'm going to running a fully built block ls darton sleeved 84.5mm je pistons manley turbo tuff rods etc New skunk 2 manifold with 90mm tb ,( wake up the top end better than the Victor X with a Blox Billet 70mm tb) itr head with 4piston outlaw head job, with built gsr tranny with quaife lsd and itr final drive with the Garret 40r bb turbo.. Turbo is rated up to 700 so I'm guessing 610-630hp and I'll be good for high boost and daily with like 400-480hp

Ahh, well that changes things a bit.

Maybe you should go with a custom sheet metal intake manifold?

May save some $$$ depending on who you know.

Great that manifold and the skunk 2 are great but the skunk 2 has a better powerband from idle to redline

gonna be pickin up a slightly used 57 trim 63. a/r turbo from a friend for a couple hundred bucks, then i'll be gettin that blox turbo mani and then my block is off to the machine shop for an oe rebuild bottom end with arp rod bolts, acl bearings and arp head studs

question : what do you guys think of an ebay intercooler and piping? its usually around $150-170 and i havent really heard of people have problems with it for around 250-270whp

You'll be fine , I'm 260 hp for almost 2 years now... with ebay intercooler pipping . Just make sure you get good clamps , mine blew off a few times then just tightened really right and been good since then.. But I recommend stronger Vband clamps, that's going on my new setup....

Stock motor or aftermarket rods? If no valve train work is done limiter should be set at 7k
