LS-Vtec Turbo worth it for me??
i have an opportunity to pick up a GSR head for cheap and still debating whether i should slap it on my LS turbo or sell it. i plan on boostin no more then 6psi and rev below 7200rpm on a stock LS block and the stock GSR head. i've heard LS Vtec not being reliable if you rev too high where the stock LS block (and its bearings) cant catch up with the GSR head up to 8k. keeping the boost low and revving low, will the motor turn out to be more reliable then or should i just sell the head and keep my current LS turbo?

ill say this, with the same turbo setups, my lsvtec on 7 psi felt as fast as my ls on 10 psi was.
my lsvtec with open downpipe on 12 psi was much much faster than the ls on 11 psi with a greddy catback, just about a full second faster

all were stock internals except the lsvtec. incidentally, that is the only one of the 3 that i blew up. go figure.
ps. i didnt break it because the lsvtec is an unreliable setup, i just was running too much boost for my map sensor/fuel injectors. it had nothing to do with the mechanics of the motor being put together
