ok i wanted to now which would spool faster.
The gsr gas higher compression however the LS has longer stroke for displacement and lower compression.
so.... which would spool faster

stock ls longblock
drag III kit

vs

stock gsr longblock
drag III kit

This has been pissing me off all day cause i didn't know the answer and the reason why..

the gsr should spool faster with it having a higher compersion theres less cylinder volume to fill up which means faster exhuast flow to bring that turbo to full spool, when you have lower compersion theres alot of cylinder left to fill up which mean more time it takes to fill up that space

I'm gonna have to disagree with you, the LS has a slight edge in displacement, and actually flows more exhaust volume on the low end versus the GSR, thus why it spools faster.

im gonna say LS as well due to the LS making more low end torque hence they have all large primary cam lobes and move more air, and we vtec motors are stuck with the off vtec lobes and dont move as much air hence spooling slower.....

look at how much faster you make boost when in vtec

ive done a test using the same setup on a gsr and ls. ls spooled quicker, but not by much.

I would've never thought the ls would spool quicker.

I thought the better flowing GSR head would help but being that it is early spool versus late, the benefits of the GSR head is negligible.
