LS turbo running a p28 with hondata issues
I was going LS vtec but got screwed over on a b16 head without cam holders so I sold it and now I'm just going to run a LS turbo with hondata. I bought the hondata s200b and p28 ecu (for ls vtec) and had the map made for a ls vtec.
When I plug everything in my car it starts up for a little and then eventually dies with the rpms around 400. After a few more tries and dies, the car wont even start. What could be the issue? The hondatat lites up red so it's not broken. I plugged back my stock LS ecu with safc and it idles fine (yes, I unplugged the safc when I used the hondata). Any ideas??

That wouldn't make sense. The only difference is vtec so if I eliminate vtec from activating (decreasing the fuel mixture while tunning) it should run as a non vtec.
Also, I just realized that my basemap was setup to work with a 3 bar map sensor and as of now, I haven't installed the 3 bar map sensor on my car. Is this the reason?

More than likely... Since you'd be a few columns to the right of where you should actually be... It's seeing more voltage than it would with a stock map sensor... So it thinks it's getting more air... Also, you can disable vtec in the program... I suggest you do that instead of just decreasing fuel or whatever you said...

well, u know that u have to cut the map sensor signal when u install the safc, so when you unplug the safc, it probably is not getting any reading for the map sensor. why dont u try zeroing out your fuel correction w/ the safc and hondata installed and see how that works...
make sure u write down the values incase u have other problems.
and yes, if u do not have the 3 bar installed and the calibration is for a 3 bar, it will run like ***

I tried that too. I set the lo/hi to 0 and still the same outcome. I didn't install my safc so I didn't even know you had to cut the map sensor. I thought the safc just splices into my ecu wires without disconnecting anything.
