LS turbo questions!!!! (I'm a newbie PLEASE HELP!!)
I'm getting a LS engine swap done soon into my EG. I'm also planning to get a DRAG 3 turbo kit put in at the same time. Here are all my questions that I have about getting this done and THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me out... I"m only 17 years old by the way. :D By the way, this will be my daily driver and want to keep it as reliable as possible. I also believe I'm getting Hondata, dyno tuned, boost controller with this setup.
1. Is DRAG 3 turbo kit a good kit for me to get?
2. How much boost can the DRAG 3 kit go up to? Because in the future... I may want to run more boost.
3. How long will the stock LS motor last with me running 8psi max? The motor will have 30k miles to begin with.
4. Is running on 5psi good for daily driving?
5. Can my engine handle 8psi when i go to the track?
6. MOST IMPORTANTLY... will I need to buy any SEPARATE parts for my ENGINE to handle the boost? I'll only be running 7-8psi max.
Again, I would really appreciate if u guys help me out!!!

Re: LS turbo questions!!!! (ilovemixedrice)
5 pounds is good for daily driving. Your motor will hold 8 pounds at the track fine, you might even want to bump it up to 10 at the track. If you keep up on the maintanence, change oil often, and spark plugs to name a few the motor should last a good time.

If you start out with an good fuel management, you can run more than 8 psi saffely. Ls's have tons of potential. Many members are making close to 300 hp on thier stock ls motors, 12-15 psi. However 10-11 psi, should keep you satisfied and reliable for a while.
My first kit was a Revhard 2c, great beginner kit. Drag has same potential as Revhard as far as power, i just like the Revhard components better.
