Default LS rods, Vitara pistons in a d16z6... compression ratio?

Im thinking about putting a set of LS rods and vitara pistons in my d16z6 and im curious what compression ratio id be gettng out of them.

Also, does the block have to be notched for LS rods? Thanks

Not sure on the ratio.. I would assume that the block would have to be notched a little for the ls rods.. I was going to do this a while ago on the sohc motor but the company that rebushed the ls rods(crower) doesnt do it anymore..

great info for stock spec d series rods, im asking if there is a different with LS rods

The small end needs to be rebushed to 19mm and you need to shave the sides of the big end down a little.. Look on crower.com under rods and youll see the difference between the ls rods and d16 rods..

I know doing the ls rods is great for a budget build but I would suggest just getting a set of eagle rods and be done with it..

ive been trying to find the ls / d16 rods on their site but i cant find the differences, just aftermarket replacements

The aftermarket replacements are the same size as stock(except for the fact that they are stronger)..

Engine C-to-C BE Bore BE Width PE Bore PE Width

B18A/B-B20B 5.394 1.890 0.935 0.827(21mm) 0.900

D16 Series 5.394 1.890 0.892 0.748(19mm) 0.716

So youll need to rebush the small end from 21mm to 19mm and shave .0215 from each side of the big end.. Might wanna check my math on the big end shave..
