ls rod bolt questoins?
I have a rebuilt lsvtec which i pulled out of a wrecked car a year or so back. I was told it had after market rod bolts. I cant remeber which brand. Anyways so i have the pan off and the tray. I think there aftermarket but im not sure.
on the nutside of the bolt theres a shallow cut out or line that goes threw the bottom of the bolt. I have some new arp bolts and they have a dimple on the nutside. So i thought they were stock until i flipped a old ls(b18b1 just like mine) laying around and it didnt have this thin line cutout. As far as the nut size goes the arp uses a 13mm socket and the one on my motor uses a 12mm like stock. I dont know if that means anything. Also looked with a mirror on the head side and didnt see any writing maybe some kind of circle but thats it.
Just trying to figure this out before i get it tuned. thanks for the help guys.
oh and btw motor is boosted thats why posted in here.

Re: ls rod bolt questoins?
Well the arp that I have new in box (bought a 2 years ago though) say arp on the head side but not the nut side. Thanks for the photo link. Ill take a pic and see if I can figure it out. I'm allways catchin crap for being part of the younger gen (born in 1986) and not being good on computers...lol

where could i find the year on the block..? i never thought of that. I dont know i just thought they were aftermarket because lots aftermarket bolts have a line or dimple (like arp) on that end. Like arp ls1 350 rod bolts have a line like that. Idk im gona borrow some measuring calipers and that will praobly tell me whats up.
