ls motor build for turbo

3 Attachment(s)
Hi guys
Set up now:
2000 integra ls coupe
stock motor
Air intake
Axle back exhaust: custom 2.25 inch tube to magnaflow tip
coilovers
hardrace camber kit front and back

I have been slowly accumulating parts for a full motor rebuild. I am rebuilding for two reasons. I currently have 198000 miles on the motor for one and for two I want to turbo it so a rebuild was first priority. I am shooting for 350whp with 15lbs of boost. 57 or 60 trim I am guessing. The purpose of getting some of these things was because I am trying to minimize the down time of my car as it is my DD.

Parts I have already gotten:
-b18b1 bare block. It was cleaned and dipped but I need to bore it. I am going with 82mm
-ls crank shaft
-82mm weisco pistons 9.0 compression
-Eagle rods
-New main bearings
-New rod bearings
- ARP main/head studs
- New moroso oil pan with oil drainback for future turbo.
-new motor mounts because mine are bad
- Got a used GSR oil pump and water pump of cl. Both look good.
- shopping around right now for a gasket kit (COMMENTS ON A GOOD ONE ARE APPRECIATED) I would like to buy them as a set that contains all the necessary ones.

I plan to take the block, crank, pistons, and rods to a shop for them to assemble as I dont know how to mess with the rings and such.

Question is: what else do I need to get to make a healthy strong engine?? I think I got everything that I need (except for that gasket kit). The rest of the stuff is going to come off the engine in my car currently. Any comments?

Also. The purpose of this rebuild is not to make my car faster till I get the turbo set up on it but a question that has been nagging me and I cant find the answer for is will boring the cylinders and adding this stuff add to the hp? Probably a stupid question...

Pics of the car as well...

81.5mm bore max for boosted application on stock sleeves

yup 82 does sound a little unnecessary

Going with 82mm because the block was at the shop once for a 81.5 mm bore but he could not do it because of some very small pitting. He said I would have to do 82mm to get it really right. 82mm is the max... Got this from several very reliable sources. Pistons are here so it's to late to change. I am not really going that high with hp.

you should be ok then i thought you didnt order the pistons yet but you will have no room for error

Re: ls motor build for turbo

prob be better off with just getting an oem gasket kit from honda. thats what everyone uses on high hp setups even oem headgaskets so you should be golden.

Re: ls motor build for turbo

Thanks for the advise. Problem I am running into is that the only "kit" I am finding that is oem comes with a LOT of little rings and stuff I have no ideas where it would go. I don't want to mess with the head at all past taking the valve cover off to paint it while I am doing all this. So should I just buy separate valve cover gasket, head gasket, im gasket, exhaust gasket? Plus the kit containing the oil pump gasket, water pump gasket and oil pan gasket? Is there any other important ones I am going to need?
