LS final drive in a S4 tranny? (2000 Civic Si)
Will it work?
Have a quaife diff for the s4 tranny and want to keep it but don't know if the final drive will bolt up.

Why don't you just get in touch with Tyrone? Or are you planning on doing this yourself? Perhaps check out the hybrid board, or for that matter the Integra R forum on here has plenty of tranny part swapping fiends on there.

everyone always confuses this, the LS and b16a trannies all have 4.4 final drive, changing is useless.

Re: LS final drive in a S4 tranny? (DragII)
I am assuming that they will look different when placed on top of eachother(provided they aren't the same)...will the spines be closer or farther apart?
will they be at a harder angle? Are they stamped?...I'm going to pull the tranny apart this weekend to replace the diff ...and while I am in there I can compare the two...

they all have 66 teeth on ring gear and 15 teeth on mainshaft ... that 4.40 ratio ... I rebuild trannies all the time.

And if anybody has been around its vtec4gs. Everytime I had a question when I was younger I would always look to him for answers, and I can assure you he is right 99.999999% of the time.

Re: LS final drive in a S4 tranny? (Arturbo)
OMG!...A real answer....Much thanks...
So it's a 4.40 final drive!
Can you help w/ my second question..Will it fit in the casing and bolt up to the diff?
BTW the only place I found that stated the Si had a 4.26 final drive was on the Titeboy(sp) racing site someone posted up earlier...even in the captions it states that someone physically pulled it apart and counted the splines and said it is a 4.40 final drive.. only reason they posted it as having a 4.26 was because the helms manual said so..but they said the helms was printed incorrectly..

Re: LS final drive in a S4 tranny? (BlwnBlue)
Both my Helms manual and 1998 factory manual state that B18B1 engines have a 4.266 FD. All the information I have seen says that B18Cx and B16A2 have 4.400 FDs.
