Lots/New/Better Pics of my Portflow worked head
Hey guys, just thought I'd post some higher quality pics of my head work that my GSR head just recieved from Portflow
Modified combustion chamber detail. Enlarged to 85mm to match bore of the block and head gasket from Cometic.
Exhaust side porting - not much work done here, just a slight enlargement
Exhaust side again, different angle. This shows the work done to the valve pocket area.
Close up detail, showing Skunk2 retainers installed, along with the Ferrera .5mm oversized valves
On to the intake side, where the most of the work is most apparent. Guides were trimmed slightly to improve flow
Different angle, intake side, showing valve pocket work. Substantially larger in this area
Final finished product on intake side
I'm very pleased with their work, and service. The box arrived extremely well packed, and the head is clean and complete. All bolts or studs were either reinstalled, or sent in a plastic baggie. Along with that great service and attention to detail, was a nifty Portflow T shirt and a few stickers, at no charge of course.
Again, I'll not hesitate to recommend anyone to Portflow. Fast service, great customer service, and great work, as the pics illustrate.

Damn thats a nice looking head!!!! Mind telling us what the turn arround time, and price was?
What CR ratio will you be running? I noticed you had the combustion chambers welded, how much does that raise the compression?

I had a special deal for my head, but for 1450 you can have the following done to your head as well:
port/polish
Debur and enlarge combustion chamber
.5mm larger Ferrera valves, new valve stem seals
mill for straightness
Portflow inner springs
Completely dissassemble, clean, and reassemble
return shipping
This does not include the price of the retainers, which I supplied, along with the ITR outer springs. Turn around time was fast, about 3 weeks including shipping time

what kinda hp power gain from a head like that
I would like to know what kind of power increases you can expect from work like that. I imagine the oversized valves must help a lot...

Re: Lots/New/Better Pics of my Portflow worked head (Xerxes)
thats totally subjective. A mild setup might gain 10hp. A wild setup might gain 50hp. I think that with my increased bore size and breathing ability of the motor, the head had become the bottle neck. I've seen gains on n/a B20's up to 20whp, so who knows on a boosted setup. Only time will tell...
