Lots of blue smoke... Guys, I need opinions!!
93 LS-T 4psi
Alright, I just drove it for about 15 minutes and I was on my way home and I got on it a lil bit I watched the boost gauge hit about 3-4 psi, i shifted, I happened to look back and all I saw was blue smoke. The car ran fine for the mile I had to drive home and it sounds completely normal. No knocking, no nothing. Just blue smoke all the time, at idle too. Could it be the seals in my turbo leaking and just burning in the downpipe? Thats what I'm hoping for... Any ideas?!!
Thanks!

rings. Or maybe your return line is kinked.
Did you just put your turbo on?
Did you do a compression check?

Re: Lots of blue smoke... Guys, I need opinions!! (beepy)
Hmmm... Here's the whole story... I was driving it and one of my charge pipes came loose so I had no boost for about 10 minutes. I did get on it a bit for a few minutes (with no boost) and then I pulled over to check which pipe blew off... I fixed that and then once I pulled away and hit boost there was an INSANE amount of blue smoke pouring out. I mean an INSANE amount. So I pulled into my driveway and let it idle for 20 seconds or so. Still pouring out like crazy. I took my valve cover off just to see if everything looked kool and everything seemed fine. The motor sounded absolutely fine. So about 20 minutes later by the time I had everything back together I started it back up and there was no smoke at all. I still have no idea what the hell really happened.
Anyone have any ideas?

i'd have to say return line as well... check that she-ite. it could be your seals in your turblow as well.. its not expensive for a rebuild kit.. its like a bill; more or less.. its not hard to do it yourself either... just make sure its balanced... unless you can put it back the way you took it off... exactly how you took it off. the block could also be a problem. does it still smoke? could be your pistons or rings. just my 2 cents.. good luck and bump

i just read your second post.. the one that clarified things.. i think it could be something in the block man. its not that bad yet because its not constant. but get a compression test ASAP! dont drive it like a monster. it will only affect your wallet. BUT this could also mean the seals in the turbo. but the thing is. when its the oil seals; it will only smoke during idle and it will go away once you start driving. so more than likely.. block bro.. lemme know what you find out =\.. peace

your turbo is on the outs man... you got on the gas when your charge pipe blew off.. you must have overspun the turbo and messed something up..
check the drain line like the other guys said but i dont think its the problem...
its bad to hit the gas when a charge pipe falls off.. there is no restriction and the turbo just overspins itself..
good luck

So far it's running normal. No more smoke. I've been taking it easy on her just incase. Compression test came out the same before I turbo'ed it. Turbo still spools hard just like before... Nothing really is out of the ordinary. I'd still like to know what the hell it is, or was.
