lots of blowby followed with compression test numbers, any info?
setup:bone stock b16a
evo 3 16g turbo
268 whp at 10 psi
been turbo since last summer, changed turbo got tuned in july
car has been awesome until about a week ago.i noticed lots of oil coming through the breather on the valve cover and all around the oil cap.changed out my pcv valve and same thing keeps happening.the car does not smoke while driving only a slight bit at idle and the smoke is whitish but goes away in about 5 minutes, ive noticed no loss in power.so i just did a compression test and the numbers scare me 190 200 120 210if anybody knows what my next step should be please fill me in,this is my daily so of course i expect the worst

Agreed, rings and or ringlands. Perhaps you got some bad gas and had a little knock. You can pull the piston, hone, replace and re-ring and be back in business in no time.

should i continue to drive until i can fix this or just try to use a different car to and from work?
and if im gonna replace a piston then i might as well do all 4 and get forged right?

Thats what my car was doing. I continued to drive it.. I apprantly it had been like that when I bought it so there is no tellin how long they drove it that way. But I now have the block apart and I had 3 cracked pistons and all four bad rings.. but like i said before i tore it aprrt it was drivable.. but I guess its like one of those things where it could tear up more than what is wrong now... Re: (stockb18c)
My beater's D15 feels like an air compressor outlet when I feel the breather tube - and thats at idle! I still burn zero oil and get 40mpg (stock NA). ATM the expected result from continuing to drive it will be shorter oil life (faster contamination), but worst-case will be a chunk of piston coming loose at WOT/redline. Valve & piston material has a knack for somehow getting into ajacent cylinders, although just one ruined cylinder is enough to junk the ENTIRE motor.
The guy who I helped replace pistons when this happened to him had no noticable issues after simply putting in fresh pistons/rings - he didnt rehone, didn't change bearings, didn't even remove the head... To each his own.

Lol I just went threw this myself like two weeks ago... I asked and asked and no one knew for sure what it was.
So pulled the pistons to fine 3cyls had broken ring lands. Just find a set of rods with pistons on them swap them out for your old ones..
