In the morning or cold starts it's typically condensation. Motor is just cold. A little smoke after warm under boost is okay IMO.
But to be honnest alot of it depends on how the engine was built.

i get barely a hint of smoke/steam when fully warmed up on my stock b16a2 motor and that is with very tight factory clearances.
if your concerned, do a leakdown test

Smoke is ok for now it was condensation.... but a lot of oil going out of my can now.... i was with the 2 port behind the block ,1.5L of oil out of my can... then i 've pluged the fitting beside the generator and connect my catch can on the valve cover port and the block fitting , tranny side.... less oil but i still need to put a rag on the filter if i dont want oil in my engine bay... I guess ill stay with the ghetto solution

Compression Tested: 170-170-170-80
Ive a burned valve, possibly the cause of my catch can problem.

Re: A lot of smoke going out of my catch can (QuickEJ6)
thats not a burnt valve... its deff ringlands.. sounds like both ringlands have been lost does it have any blue smoke while running?

Re: A lot of smoke going out of my catch can (QuickEJ6)
I had a lot of oil and smoke coming out of my catch can recently. I'm now tearing down the head to replace the head gasket and to install head studs. I was told that the smoke and oil plus the littbe bit of coolant I was loosing under boost was caused due to stretching the factory head bolts. Plus I had a valve stem seal on its way out. I hope this helps you out... I'd say try a leakdown test and if that is clear then you should be ok.

Mine didn't smoke while it was running just when I hit boost. I also has the #1 cylinder at about 80psi on my compression test. Is there a definite way to know is its ringlands or something else???

do a leak down test and remove the oil cap and dip stick
if air is comming out of the oil cap then its the head/valves
if its comming out of the dipstick then ringlands are dead

I want to put it all back together and not have to open it up again for a long long time. I'll keep you all posted on the install and #'s. I think I'll have no problem beating my old $'s of 239whp, and 184tq @5-6psi
