loosing boost

well i am now boosting 13 psi but it tends to drop instantly to about 10psi and holds there throughout my power band...ideas? thanks a lot

wpgcivic 08-24-2005 12:24 PM

ttt

nonvtecD 08-24-2005 12:27 PM

more info please, motor? turbo? wg? bc?

wpgcivic 08-24-2005 12:30 PM

sorry, d16z6, hf mani, td05h, internal gate, homemade bc

initially hits 13 psi then higher rpm(5000+) tappers off to 10...would changing my vacuum source to the intake manifold make any difference you think? currently i have it off the compressor housing

nonvtecD 08-24-2005 12:48 PM

No, compressor housing is great for internal gates, that's how mine is. I think your turbo is too small.

Na, 13psi isn't even touching its efficiency to be honest. Just sounds like a boost controller problem and or a boost leak. My car is doing the same damn thing right now. 15 psi, back to 12... a week ago it held 18 perfectly. And I can't find anything wrong with it. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmileo.gif

when are you going to realize that your car just doesnt like you

wpgcivic 08-24-2005 01:09 PM

well i have a ball and spring style mbc, and i had to modify the spring because it was too tough, but i am getting a new bc today so i will let you guys know how this works out

nonvtecD 08-25-2005 07:24 AM

Mine goes up to 10 and then almost immediately goes down to 8 psi. I have the same kind of MBC.

Re: (nonvtecD)

MBC's suck. I have similar problems. Spikes to 12 and settles at 10psi. Td04-13t with hf manifold and external wastegate conversion.

he should get more boost by switching to the intake manifold. I always saw about 1psi less running from the compressor housing due to the pressure drop across the intercooler.

Yeah but it will still to the drop thing, He can just turn the boost up on the MBC for more boost but it wont fix the problem. At least I don't think.

yea thats true.

Re: (SOHC_MShue)

maybe you need a boost controller with a gain function.

wpgcivic 08-26-2005 09:48 AM

well i tried making a different mbc from home depot and put it to the intake manifold and same bs, so i am just going to settle with this until i do it properly next year
