Icon2 Looking to upgrade .48ar to .63ar, where to look??

Everywhere I look, prices are usually around ~250$ just for the turbo exhaust housing. Am I **** out of luck? I have a .48ar and I want to upgrade to .63 since I want to push 20+psi.

I have even considered buying an ebay turbo just to use the exhaust housing, but I am unsure if it will fit. I know I should be hesitant with ebay parts, but most cast iron ebay items should be okay. It will thoroughly inspected before use.

Or, if anyone has a .63 ar exhaust housing for sale, or know someone who has one, I'm looking to buy! I will also trade my housing for your .63.

Can someone tell me how to measure my exducer wheel? I bought a .63 ar housing before, it fit, but the wheel would not spin.

any help will be appreciated

Post up in the WTB thread. You need to know the exhaust wheel size and what turbo manufacture to get the correct housing. Its not a one size fits all kind of part. The housings are machined to fit the exhaust wheel of your turbo so a .63 t3 housing from a 60 trim wont fit a .63 t3 housing from a precison 6266.

my turbo is a precision. I also found a .63 ar housing on ebay, which is a precision one, which I may pursue.

I came across a deal of a life time... brand new brian crower 404 cams and brian crower titanium retainers/springs for $400... (plus another 130 for adjustable cam gears)

should I pick these up? I do not plan on doing port work on my head, and I do not plan on buying an aftermarket intake manifold. Will this valve train set up help me get to ~450whp? (of course having a .63 housing, the 60 trim should be maxing out around this point im sure)

If not porting the head and buying a new intake manifold is going to hold me back, I rather buy the .63 ar housing, up the boost to ~400whp and call this build DONE. If I can't hit my 450-500 goal with the valve train set up alone without a new IM or porting, I'll stick with the stock head, the reason being, I don't want to spend another 800$ on this car.

All help appreciated!

Well it isnt cheap to make the kind of HP. You are either in it to make the power or be happy with what you have and be done with it. Its an LS platform which requires a little more work to get the HP you want. Again be sure its a .63 housing for your exact turbo not just any ol .63 housing I feel like your going to buy one and it not be the right housing. PLEASE PLEASE be sure its for your exact turbo.

You can do 400 on stock intake and cams BUT its going to take a **** ton of boost and I dont think the 60 trim will do it without the aid of cams and some more rpm

Thanks for the reply.

After looking at the LS turbo thread, I see guys breaking 400whp on a stock head, same turbo, with 21psi, hitting 390whp, and 23psi @400+ I will probably run about 20-21 psi, and I will be happy with that. With stock sleeves, I want to play it safe. I think 400whp will be amazingly fun for a weekend warrior, I guess I don't really need 450-500whp. Out of 10 heads up races, not one pulled on me at 293 to the wheels, so I think 400 will keep me happy.

You will need to upgrade your cams and intake to hit 400whp+, no way the stock cams will do the job. The Ls intake mani sucks and it will will start to be a huge restriction in higher boost in the upper RPMs.
