Default Looking For Turbo Opinions And Advice

I am starting a new build, I am looking for a strong 1/4 mile car, but something that is decent on the street as well. Race gas power level around 700whp and 400 whp on pump gas.

I currently am running a GT35R on a 84.5mm B16, I have been looking at the GT4294R and the Borg Warner S366. I am looking for opinions and personal experience with both. I will be using a Full Race Top Mount Manifold, also looking for opinions on divided or non divided manifolds with using these turbos.

It will be going on a 85mm AEBS sleeved LS Block with a B16 Head. I am running ITR Cams currently, is it worthwhile to upgrade to Skunk 2 Pro 2's??

a GT40R will make 700whp. But for a street car with only 400whp daily, will have some MAJOR lag. for comparison, I drove a 500awhp GT-R with a GT40R and the thing didn't start to spool until over 4000rpm, didn't hit full boost until 5000-5500.

I don't know enough about the bullseye to give info on 'em, but from what I've read they're a great option. I'm sure The Shodan will post in here and give you more useful info.

the 366 is nasty, i have no personal exp with it.

a friend has a 35r on an 81mm gsr, made 650 on race gas. the car is nersty on the street.

my car made 710 on c16, and never saw the street except for 3 years ago when i drove it to get the cage installed with the old b16 in it and a t3t67h0.

with the little motor it was light switch power. but with the gsr it seems to not stop pulling.

I was just looking on Full Race's website and the T4/T67 looks like it will do what I want. Anybody have any experience with this turbo? What A/R should I get a .84 or 1.00 ?

I'd put the T4 S366 over the T4/T67 any day because of the lower IATs that allow for a bit more boost, with less work to make 700whp. These are a Journal bearing setup, and there is no need to try to hybridize a ball-bearing cartridge for the response and power that this turbo has. A -4AN line is required to run this turbocharger, and no oil feed restrictors are used. They are a little more expensive than the T67, but you get a LOT of turbo for the money, honestly with this model.

Here. This is what the standard S366 looks like in polish housing:

These are from Tepid1's setup. Most of the pictures of the S366 are custom high heat coated.

Both T3 and T4 models use an 8" diameter anti-surge compressor cover with a 4" inlet. Fitment is best with Top mount manifolds, or Kooks-style (Ramhorns) that have a bit extra room.

The T4 model uses a 80.3mm exhaust wheel in a T4 divided housing, which is larger than the the P-trim model used in the T67 version. This helps with top end power.

Because of this, the T4 model needs to have a special V-band clamp for the downpipe (it is 3.25" as opposed to just 3"). The T3 model can come with the same exhaust wheel in a .70A/R 3" vband turbine housing.

Notice how the compressor wheel is an extended tip compared to the Garrett models

Here's an example of an extended tip compressor wheel vs a standard Garrett wheel. BW on the left, Garrett on the right. This is most prevelant in the larger models.

Tepid1's dyno at about 14psi
