Default Looking for a turbo/major work installer in Connecticut

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good shop in Connecticut. I have a 99 Prelude SH that I've acquired a port/polished head with upgraded valvetrain, stage 2 turbo camshafts, adjustable cam gears, unorthodox pullys, Venom style intake manifold, golden eagle fuel rail, and aem v2 intake. I'm looking for someone to swap the head and add the turbo setup along with anything else that's missing.

Also, how important is it to re-do the bottom end when converting to turbo? How well will the H22A4 hold up or is this something that should be taken care of?

Thanks in advance

Well, H22's are known for weak sleeves so wouldn't try to put down too much power. As far as the headwork goes you can do that yourself with basic handtools. Why are you putting so much work into the head if you're going turbo, I would build the bottom before the top for sure.

If I were you I would get a base model tranny and get a LSD and get rid of that SH junk unit so your car will be ready for the turbo

I have a performance shop in Branford, CT, which is New Haven County. I can recommend a couple machine shops but I can install any bolt-ons you may have or also provide you with parts.

What exactly do u need done. I would not go to xxtuning cause they're very expensive and I never seen anything good come out of it.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for the info. My prelude is red. I am looking to remove the atts because of couse I'll have to. I am basically looking to do everything all at once (or at least in a couple of steps). I'd like to have the car by the summer. I need the engine rebuild done first. Suspension, Brakes, Custom exhaust (3"+) and turbo to wrap it up. I want things done right. Looking for 600hp (more if it's possible). Full-race in arizona has a 620hp setup for a h22 (civic) so I'm hoping it isn't too much of an issue putting something together. This is a daily driver which is why I'm hoping to find someone stable and reliable. I also know this is going to cost. I'm hoping not to spend too, too much which is why I started getting parts. Saving $50 here and $30 there adds up.

with all the stuff you mentioned... .you are looking at over 10,000 easy........

"saving 50 here and 30 there" aint gonna cut it, you will be saving forever to do the build.

Yep. I was thinking more like $15k. I was going to do the work myself and in little steps, but I'm going to bite the bullet and just get it done. I had a 97 SH and totaled it in 2000 coming around a corner with a deer in the road. Choice was either hit the deer or the hill. I took the hill. I paid $27k new. This time I have a 99 and paid $12K a year ago. If I put $15K into it and come out with a reliable huge horsepower and performance increase then I'll be really happy. I probably wouldn't have gotten the SH if I had known what I was going to do with it. Summer is probably unrealistic, well maybe by end. I'm going to start shopping around. I'd like to get it in somewhere to begin the engine work in the next 3 weeks.

instead of swaping all of your SH "stuff" for a differant model stuff, you might want to look into possibly selling your car for a differant one? or maybe trading someone for their "other model" prelude? (sorry, i dont know much about models of preludes")

Let me know when u r ready and I can give all the info. He usually have H motors being done all the time. Every H22 he has done, he replaced the H22 crank with H23 crank. U will get almost 2.4 liter. I have H23 VTEC motor in my 93 prelude right now.
