Default Looking for input on my turbo build (not your typical motor)

Im have an 89 Accord Coupe and im running the JDM B20A which is a rare find but some of you may know about it. Stock it was 160hp/140 ft lbs of torque with a 6500 rpm rev limit. This was my past setup and im making some changes and wanted input from others.

Engine Specifications:
JDM B20A
Wiseco 9:1 Compression Pistions
Pauter Connecting Rods (H23)
ARP Head Studs
Ferrea Custom Valve Train
Vortech FPR
Vortech Fuel Rail
Vitec Wires
MSD 6AL Ignition
MSD Blaster Coil
Edelbrock Victor X Intake Manifold (polished)
Edelbrock 65MM Throttle Body
Garrett T3 Super 60 Turbo
Tial 35MM Wastegate
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve
Spearco Front Mount Intercooler
Ludespeed Turbo Manifold (Sold)
AEM 30-1040 EMS (sold)
AEM Wideband
RC 550 CC Injectors
Custom 3" Exhaust
Custom 3" Downpipe
Clutch Masters 4 Puck Clutch
Fidanza Lightened Flywheel
Quaife Limited Slip Differential

I blew that motor and turbo so im planning on upgrading my turbo manifold, turbo, and im guessing my injectors and wastegate are going to be a little small. My last setup never hit the dyno but JDogg tuned it and guessed it was around 275-300hp. Im shooting for 350-400 but dont want to kill my motor because parts are not cheap to fly in from Japan.

My manifold im either looking at a topmount, ramhorn or im going to go with a similar log style for clearance issues if i have to. But turbos im looking at either the GT3076 or GT3071 because i want it to spool fast because of my low rpm range. But i would like your input because this was my first build and i learned everything i know about turbos on this and im not a pro by any means.

Thanks!

I have the GT30R on my b20a (prelude) and its full boost 20psi at 3700rpm... its very nice and makes NASTY tq... (340wtq) setup looks really nice.. what are you gonna use to tune it with? i made 355whp and 340tq with this turbo on 19psi which i wasnt impressed with but there was still room for more tuning and i had stock cams

Thats not bad i was hitting full boost (17lbs) pretty quick on my T3 Super 60 but im looking to upgrade. I was running a 30-1040 AEM EMS which i liked other than the fact that my tuner is 10 hours away from me. I am considering using it again but im going to see whats available when im done and what my tuning options are then.

you dont need PAUTER rods for 400whp you can save yourself couple hundies and get the eagles, couple buddies are pushing upwards of 500whp and no problems...

I already have them/used them so im going to stick with them. I almost sold them but i figured by the time i sold them and purchased new ones i would not get much back.

Anyone have opinions on my turbo choice? Or trim i should use

great build... but why did the other engine blow? was it tuned ragged-edge or something? what happened? with a safe/conservative tune, plenty of boost, and bigger turbo, you'd easily do well over 300 (dont those heads kinda stink though?)

either of those turbos should work, but you could go with man t3/t4 setups that would probably do the job too

Thanks for the response.....The JDM Accord B20A is not the same as the prelude B20A its kinda of a cross breed of motors. My intake valves were custom cut because they have a larger diameter such as an H22 and my exh valves were the same as a B18A. My differentail matched up to a B16, Head studs were b18 and VR6 VW studs and some stuff i had to go direct to Japan because they didnt match anything state side.

My first engine blew because of sand blasting media stuck in the EGR port and dumped into the cylinders and wiped them out, second motor boost spike but i was sold stock bore wiseco pistons by a sales person knowing it was for boost but the rings were not strong enough for boost as i found out. After calling raceengineering and being told that no one made a ring strong enough for boost on a stock bore i was a little mad. They never seemed to seat right and blew oil so i kinda purposely blew it out of frustration/anger.

It was tuned by JDogg and i was impressed with his abilities and he was extremely paitient and helped me out a lot. I ran into issues off the start and he fixed them for me and if it wasnt for me i would have given up from lack of knowledge and a shop would have raped me for what he did. But this time around i seem to know the bugs and think i left off with them figured out so i want to make this one worth all the time, money, and frustration that i have been through trying to be different. And i was running the GM solenoid for my boost control which worked for a period of time but something went wrong and i lost my boost control.
