Look what happened to my Compressor Inlet
I'm guessing this is due to the design on the Manifold. Basically I had to cut a small section of the inlet to clear the Clutch Slave Cylinder. It was either that or get a smaller turbo. What I'm wondering is what kinda filtration device would I be able to use? I would like to use my K&N filter, but now I cant. Would a small peice of metal screen work ok? Or would that be a NO NO? Lemme know what you guys think?
Another thing... What can I use to run from the 2" Compressor Outlet to my charge pipe? I mean, I have another section of pipe that will run closer to the compressor, but what do you guys recomend I use for the curve? Oh and I can't clock the turbo any more forward, due to fitiment issues with the block. Here are some pics:
....Also will this be ok? I had to take one of the bolts that hold down the power steering pump bracket, in order for my mani to fit without hitting.
***EDIT** : the compressor is clocked correctly now (perpendicular to the ground)
for ***** n giggles :D

WOW!!! It is not a good idea to run it like that. Looks like that manifold was built for a motor on a stand and the maker forgot that you actually have to bolt transmissions up to these motors.
On a side note it looks like it would be a decent manifold for a car running a cable clutch tranny.

Are you sure the manifold is A/C compatible? I do not think it is unless you have a cable tranny.
I hope you didn't get any shavings inside that turbo when you cut it....

Re: Look what happened to my Compressor Inlet (Doodoo)
maybe try trimming the entire inlet about 1.5"? I dont think having that slave cyl in there is going to be good for the turbo, it will start wearing it down and making shavings with all the vibration which could get into your turbo.

I dumb, not stupid
I had it stuffed with a towel while I was grinding it.

You've got a valid point. I was actually thinking about doing that, but it's a bitch taking the turbo off. But I think there is enuff clearance around the slave cylinder that it should be ok.

Ok ok, I still don't think that manifold is A/C compatible.

why would you not move your compressor housing a little more toward the front. it wont be easy fitting charge piping on there.
wheres the downpipe going??

What are you talkin about man, my setup cost me less than a pre assembled kit. I'm a budget man. This worked, and I'm not about to spend extra money on a bracket. I just need to modify a filtration device on that sucka.

I stated above why i couldnt clock it up further. The block is in the way, and yes I've already shaved alot of the block off.
The DP goes right where all that open area is, but it curves up right before the oil pan. I was thinking running the connection past where the DP curves up.

OMG!!! cutting away at your turbo is never good and you should have looked at everything else before doing that. Sounds like a bracket is in order to kick your turbo out a little

What is the reason for running the compressor on that side? The down pipe should clear the slave no problem.

Re: Look what happened to my Compressor Inlet (Truman001)
Let see, buys manifold not compatable with a/c, leaves a/c on car, has turbo mounted on the wrong way, and wonders why it doesn't fit?
this is the way it is suposed to go...

uhhh yea dud e.. ummm i think its gonna be .. a no for the lower charge pipe it can be done but it wont be cheap. plus itll require modifying the housing to cear the downpipe. etcc. i bet you that you could've talked to james to make you an adapter. however the downpipe wodulnt have worked after that though. . youll have to remove that housing. and weld a 2 inch aluminum short radius bend to it to clear any of that stuff. .

Oh Yeah I am dumb! A/C is their. Not used to seeing cars with A/c. I would have ditched it before cutting a $600 turbo!
