Longevity on 400+whp motors

Hey guys, I've been thinking about building my motor and shoot for 400+whp, but was wondering how long it will last with a good build/tune. How much mileage are you guys putting on your motors, till you blow it, or rebuild it?

ive been on 18 psi on a built ls/vtec for about 4 years now, drive it everyday and even take it to the track on weekends. I drive it hard as hell, only problem i've ever had was stripped axle splines and the clutch. i've put 52k on it so far.

had mine for 4 years now aswell. Blew the stock motor up, built it right and havent had a problem since. Check that, only problem i have is traction :P

As long as the engine is built right and you maintain all the fluids you should be good to go go for the long haul.

My daily driven stock sleeve b16 with LS pistons has been running for around 2 years strong. Knocking at 400 whp with 18-19 psi. Built right, and good tuner is key.:drink:

Had my build for a few months now. Hope to see it go long!

If you build it correctly, keep your power goal within reason, get a proper tune, and maintain it, you should have a healthy engine for a long time. My current built LS/VTEC has been going strong for a year now at 385whp. I believe i'm right around 8k miles on it which isn't a lot, but its a start

for some reason i wind up taking mine apart with nothing wrong with them at the end of every year, probably thinking im going to sell my stuff and get out of debt but it never happens lol.

anyway, the first one had between 18 and 19k miles, the second one was around 14ish thousand miles. current one has like 1500 miles and cranks over 208psi even at a 9.3:1 static. all are making 420-440hp on higher boost around 18 psi, built and tuned by me using neptune
