Default limits of b20z sleeves on nitrous? (no noobs!!)

I am tryin to figure out a stock sleeve setup pushinga 120 shot. I have an ls bare block i could bore out to 81.25 or buy a b20 from attarco to tear apart. Both shortblocks will recieve bearings, block guard, arp headstuds/ rod bolts and higher compression pistons with rods. Could b20 sleeves handle a shot upwards of 100? Im goin for a two stage direct port setup

Vtec head with valve train will be added. Basically a b20 Vtec vs. lsvtec debate

ARe you using OEM pistons and rods?

It could handle it if its TUned Correctly Ie.using a Standslone for nitrous control. Get rid of the block Guard its pointless

Maybe look into the CSS for added insurance . Talk to your tuner. Listen to him

Wait, if you don't want "noobs" OP, then why are YOU here? B20 sleeves can handle ANYTHING the LS sleeves can handle power wise. They are more prone to damage from detonation and RPM abuse.

I'm curious to what u mean by "tuned" right. are u referring to the amount of timing retarded and tune the AFR via. ecu or jets? if so, what's a good target AFR to aim for, and amount of timing taken away for the OP's 120shot?

btw .. not too sure if OP is running pump or race gas?

CSS will be like almost a grand after parts and install. either sleeve it or you don't. but that's just my opinion..

noob here: i thought B20 sleeves would be weaker since its a ls block but bored bigger making the cylinder walls thinner?

The b20 cylinder walls aren't as strong as the other b series cylinder walls. The difference between the b20 and the others, the b20 cylinder walls are joined together rather than being separate.

This photo is a damaged block but you get the idea

Yes, SO you are maintaing correct a/f ratios and timing is being pulled as nitrous is activated...Safest bet is going to be a Nitrous control system like the S300 has. Have the car tuned w/o nitrous then have them tune with. Target A/f can varry pending on Fuel used. Talk to your tuner.

I have a 35 shot im pulling about 4-6 degress of timing pending on the RPM. Im Turbo tho so things are a little different.

Good post above on explanation of Sleeve differences.
