Default Lexus turbo kit...Any suggestions?

hello all, I have a customer interested in doing a turbo on his sc300. I'm not sure that I feel like doing a complete custom setup on it. Does anyone recomend a good turbo kit for it? I see F max has one but I think we will be tuning with the aem so the extra injector kit is wasted. Ideally we are looking for 400+whp. Also I will need a thicker headgasket for it. Any ideas you have will be appreciated.

Todd

hehe.. Actually its 450whp.. I know Angel they are local to me. I have talked to him some but his kit was off a supra and required a ton of customizing to make it fit. I would be farther ahead doing custom. After looking at some of the other "kits" out there and not being overly impressed I am really leaning towards doing a custom one.

ya Angel is cool. He showed up to our last dyno day. I thought he put down like 500+ but maybe I was wrong, anyway it was a sick setup. He said it wasnt that hard to customize it for the car.

actually supra kit will not bolt right on. the 2jz-gte and 2jz-ge have different heads. if you want to bolt up a turbo supra kit on a non turbo it would take some serious customizing or a new head + intake mani

get the fmax kit minus the fuel mgmnt. when i was shopping for my turbo turbokits.com told me theyd sell me a discounted fmax kit if i didnt want the fuel managment

come down to MD and visit SRT(plug for Mo ) ...I see them putting out more boosted ISs(they specialize in Lexus/Toyota) everday and they are making some very good numbers...they have a few stages of kits, think one of their GS400 TTs is making 500+...great guys, good shop

Angel ran a 12.9@ 119 on 225s and his best dyno was 511rwhp on pump gas

oh yeah... talk to Toyomoto if you want a turbo kit. If they still are good as the years before, they are the one to get. I haven't kept up with them in the past 2 years since I decided not to get a sc300. But that the best "kit" to get. They have been working with Toyotas for awhile now.

Angel might have put down more power then.. the last I had heard was 450 but I think that was back when he first got it finished. Odds are if I do turbo this I am just going to go custom. I've kinda been wanting to do a 2jz manifold for a while anyhow.

yeahi was sorta in the same boat as you are in. My turbo integra was stolen and i decided to get a is300. I looked around at some of the kits and people are selling for for like 6k. I know i can put together a kit way cheaper than that.

here if you want to check it out
http://www.swiftracing.com

here is a mani that looks so easy to make..

That twin charger setup is nice but something needs to be done about the restrictive wastegate re-entry point and extremely close positioning of the cat.

Is it just me or is there only one turbo on there? I missing the "twin charger" thing...

Oops.. it looked like the Blitz twin charger kit. I didn't study the pic but where the charge pic loops in the front it looks almost like one of the Japanese super chargers. Now that you have opened my eyes, I noticed I was looking at the alternator and that the pipes loop in front of it...hahahahahaha...

I never said I was smart but a twin charger 2JZ would be monster sweetness!!

This is for a local guy named Sam..I'm having a hard time getting much info from him on what he wants.. There is a local guy making 500+ whp with his and he wants something like that.. Problem is Angel put tons of money into his and this guys is on a tight budget.. Thanks for the links and pics.. I'll keep looking and try to figure something out for him..
