Default Leaning out with FMU and only 5 lbs.

Any thoughts one what the problem is? This is a Greddy kit on a ZC. The car leans out as the turbo spools. By about 5000 rpm, the a/f is going in to the red (I back off then obviously). I'm using a 12:1 FMU. Is it possible that my fuel pump can hold up to the 5lbs? I would think it could hold at least 5 lbs with no problems. Is there any way to confirm that the FMU is working? Should I take it apart and make sure it has the 12 disc? How can I tell?

Thanks,
RYAN

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Make sure that you have a vacuum hose hooked up to the FMU?

check the fmu...cause you shouldnt have any problems at 5 psi...maybe your boost guage is wrong..and ur boosting more thats why your leaning out..

When you raise your your fuel pressure, the volume of fuel the pump can flow drops. Check out http://www.hondata.com/techfuelpump.html

Default No fuel pressure gauge...

it looks like I'll be getting one though!

This is the first day that I've had the turbo. All of the hoses on the FMU appear to be correct, and its all new hose, so I doubt there are any vacume leaks.

My boost gauge isn't hooked up yet because I have to pick something up at a place that wasn't open on sunday. I just wanted to take if for a spin and noticed that it leans out very badly.

Is there any way to tell if the FMU actually has a 12:1 disc

Depends on the flow/output of the fuel pump.

Default FMU

So do you think that the 12:1 is just too much for the injectors to keep up with?

I'm running 5.5psi with stock injectors, stock pump, 12:1 FMU and i'm SUPER rich.

I'm actually thinking about going 10:1

How does your A/F guage appear? Mine is all the way in the red, but I believe the gauge is messed up because it doesn't move at idle or above. And I know I am running rich due to all the black carbon, so check your gauge. If I were you I would first check to see what color my exhaust fumes are, then check to see what the bottom of my WG looks like(carbon or white) and then also check my spark plugs. Like I said, it may just be your A/F gauge or one of your O2 sensors is messed up.

I replaced the pump, and every thing is fine. It stays in the green under acceleration. The only probelem so far was the fuel pump blowing the fuel pump fuse. I think that was only due to the fuse having 170,000 miles and suddenly getting something that pulls more current. Could also be that my entire car needs to have a better ground.

Good deal, luckily it was not just that causing the problem.
