Re: Launching on Ls Turboo (adictionbass)
I launch my on 3rd gear and i have a b 16 tranie. the launch rpm is 7000 and it just burn and go there are no lag. i could never launch my on 1 and 2 gear. boosting 16 psi on 17 inches wheel.
I was just ******* around but I could launch on second gear no problem . I even got a quaife lsd on 17.

Depends on your tires, suspension, lsd or not, etc... you won't get a straight answer because everybody's will be a little different. My best advice would be to practice. You don't want to bog and and you don't want to burnout halfway down the track, so try and get somewhere in between that.
On drag radials I have launched anywhere from 3.5-5.5k, but when I am on slicks I launch off my rev limiter (7300rpms).
Oh and practice...
Hey Mase how was that answer?

haha. i agree as well.
my personal experience on street tires was launching a little below 4k, just had to be real sensitive with the gas, actually until in 3rd gear. my problem wasnt so much spinning off the line as loosing traction up top in 2nd and then bogging 3rd

Re: Launching on Ls Turboo (blackeg)
I launch my LS-T on my BFG's at 7800 and on my slicks 8800
Pre-Load then slip the clutch ... You will see why on your slips compared to older ones.
