My boosted SOHC vtec hit the dyno last night!
Here's the whole set up:
sohc zc vtec (1.6L)
bone stock internals
full Apexi IHI ball bearing turbo kit
Apexi GT intercooler
2.25" exhaust
10lbs
tuned on Crome Pro
Numbers:
220whp and 182wtq
I feel like I could have made a little more power with a bigger exhaust. A 2.25" just seems tiny for a boosted car. But Im very pleased with the numbers. It feels great on the street. I'll do my best to post the dyno sheet up in the next day or two.

I know dohc zc's have the thicker rods, but I'd guess your motor won't (sohc). If thats the case, I wouldn't go much higher with the HP. A 3" exhaust would help a lot, esp with spool time, but don't increase the boost if you go bigger. Nice numbers from 10psi - what rpm do you get that much psi?

nah, actually they don't.
Change your exhaust to 3", it will make a very noticeable difference in spool time and whp

Re: My boosted SOHC vtec hit the dyno last night! (Byrd Gang 021)
thanks for the replies. Yea I want to get a 3"er and go back and tune some more and see what happens. I reach 10lbs by about 4300-4500 RPM. And the coolest part is, even though that turbo is really small, I reached peak HP at redline. I guess it's because it is in fact ball bearing. But yes, it is a fun street car. Not to bad for a D. I wanna build it and run about 15lbs daily, then 20 at the track.

I'm guessing the compressor is something like 55/75mm? My z6 pushed a t3/t04b up to 10psi by 4k with 3" exhaust, to give you an idea of what 3" dp/exhaust can help with.
I know that PG6 (d16a1) uses thicker rods (have side-by-side pics of z6/b18b/a1's), but I was sure I've seen DOHC ZC rods pictured next to sohc z6 rods showing thier extra beef.

nice numbers. Got any pics of the dyno sheet? I say crank the boost up a little higher once you get that exhaust
