K26 turbo? Any specs?
I was at my exhaust guys this morning getting some piping bent and look over to find KKK K26 turbo just chillin in the corner, I checked it out and has no shaft play, all spins freely, and has no evidence of leekage. I gave the guy $24 bucks for it so i think i got a deal. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the origin of KKK turno's and what the specs might be? The lettering on it reads: K26-2661GA8.11 and a number: 53266 10150 67 1821 226. Any help would be great.

if you are gonna use it on a GSR engine i remember you could make ~360hp (if the K26 you have is a K3T)....i will double check when i get home on specs!

For $24 that is a steal!!
The K26 is a 36lbs/min turbo. IT looks to have a 8cm turbine housing on it. Which will work great. It is a T3 inlet and a 4 bolt outlet.
It should be easy to get it to work in a turbo kit.

hey i looked for the specs which i had some where at home, but couldnt find anything but this table. Hopethis table gives you an idea about the K26 rating as in engine displacement and power delivery when the KKK turbos are used in Japan

Re: (vsmferio96)
KKK turbos are sold as Blitz turbos in Japan....the K26 family turbo line up have a very good quick spool! great turbo i believe....the same turbo used for the B series engines by TopFuel Japan! the one sold with the TopFuel is a K3T which is the K26 3070 on that table....its very similar to a GT30R i belive with some bigger turbine...whats the compressor inlet diammeter of the turbo you have? do you know the ar of it? you will be very lucky if that was a K3T turbo!
the K26 varies in different comp/turbine sizes...here is a link on a blitz turbo and manifold: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
and here is similar part number which is similar to yours: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
i think from your part number your K26 is a 2660 turbo

I haven't seen one with ball bearing though.
I had 3 of them I dissasembled them and just a thurst bearing no ball bearing..they are pretty easy to come by here in europe.

yea BB have water and oil system, so you should see two inlet holes and two outlet holes, so a totall of 4 passive holes while non BB turbos have only two passive oil hence oil feed and oil return!

if its internally wastegated it doesnt mean BB or what so ever....external wastegate is nothing but an option with many turbos these days....now a days you can get the GT30R and GT35R internally wastegated!..myself i was surprized to see an external wastegated car coming from the manufacturer! i saw a stock working Audi Quatro and it had a 40mm external wastegate! i think it was a 92 model

Re: (IntegraTypeR)
Not.
All three K26 I had were like this one without a wastegate same flange etc.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
They all had both oil lube/cooling and water cooling.
There is no sure way of knowing it.
But I've never seen a OEM K26 with BB.

Re: (IntegraTypeR)
The K3T is BB from what I've heard also.
But there is a variety of OEM K26 and I think maybe none of the OEM ones is BB maybe some that were in the porsches only.

Re: (BlackCRX)
There is no BB K26 turbo from factory. The K26 can be find on the Porsche 944, Audi 5000S and Audi RS2 but this last one was modified by Porsche, It has better spooll and peakpower, it is also expensive, you will not find one under $1000, used not new.

I have a K26 for sale I got at a local pick and pull. I go turbo pulling every now and again on saturdays they have a sale all you can pull for 40 dollars. I got it a few weeks ago. It's a K26 and the turbine is very large about 2 or 2.5 inches with a small turbine housing, but the compressor is not that big with a large compressor housing. My brother is a subaru turbo guy and he called it a cat-dog turbo. Anyway zero shaft play and it has the 4 bolt inlet and outlet with no wastegate hookup (external) I will sell for like 100 bucks anyone interested IM me. It is oil and water cooled. I have the feed and return lines that came with it. All stainless steel from an Audi 5000.
