the twins are sequential, one starts off boost than both are engaged. real answer the CFM provided by a big single is more than the two twins combined, also less mess less maintenance.

I believe tuning is also an issue w/ the twin sequential turbos vs the single.

by nature a twin turbo involves one unit that is smaller and more restrictive; that unit's restriction limits the potential of the entire package. By removing that restriction, you lose some "low-end" performance but open up the real high end power.

I believe the twin setup is purely for reduced lag. Basically for comfort, not for power. The increased lag of a single turbo means nothing to the hardcore people out there.

My friend just bought a single turbo supra. T78 to be exact. Sweet deal he got on it. only $25000. We are going to drop it off at Bullish racing this weekend for tuning. FYI Bullish Racing has the fatest 6 speed in the country--9.6x, pretty damn fast. After my friends is upgraded (fuel and tuning) he was told by them to be looking for 10-11 second passes. I cant wait, fawking bastard!

A few guys in the Kill forum know about this(Knightsport). You might want to ask in that forum as well.

hummm Im not so sure about that.. Ever heard of MVPmotorsports? or Powerhouse Racing? They have the fastest unibody supra in the world with full interior, although its not a 6speed.. But SaadSaad and some other guys in arizona have some 9sec street supras also.. Its definitly fast but I wouldnt be so quick to say its the fastest in the country..

i think SW has the fastest full-interior stock bottom-end 6-speed supra

Another reason to switch to single turbo is that it's a lot cheaper than buying an upgraded twin setup, plus it keeps things simpler. There's a lot of complicated stuff involved for the sequential setups and things can often go wrong with that -- keep it simple stupid

You guys are soo wrong.. Im sorry.. '

first things first, SW has the fastest STOCK BOTTEM END supra, but not fastest street supra..

Here is MVP's WORLDS FASTEST street supra..
http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/default.asp

this car made a 8.98 pass on LOW BOOST, NO NOS... low boost is 27psi... But on HIGH boost(41psi) the car made 1200hp and once again NO NOS.. this is THE FASTEST street supra!

Was the 8 second pass made on Street tires? All the pics of the car show drag radials. I think that car 'bends' the rules of street legality.

naw that is on crazy slicks, they hit a 1.3 60ft.. AND you are sooooo right about street legality.. That damn thing has a removable parachute, it can run off gasoline or alcohol at the track, and the damn turbo sticks out the hood.. But the funny thing about it is he has EVERYTHING neccessary to make it pass emissions/inspection that can be put in the car in a matter of 2 hours..

when u get to talking about fastest street car i guess you should really leave the contest up to daily drivers or close to it..

Yeah, that's why I posted SW... I THINK that he has the fastest daily driven Supra. Either way they're both BAD *** cars! I'd take ANY single turbo Supra any day.
