i think you might need to get in touch with kenji and find out how advanced the timing is with the program he used for your ecu.

i did, but he just said some of his programs advance timing ...didn't really tell me much more or what my program does. i'll e-mail him again.

i used a kenji itr spec p28 ecu and a zex dry kit on my old car and it did fine.. i never had it tuned at all.. best time at the track if i remember correctly was a shitty 14 @ 100mph.. i sprayed too soon and spun thru 3rd gear w/ no traction and the clutch was slipping badly also..

that was on a gsr motor? did you retard your timing at the distributor?
i'm hitting a 14.4 with i/h/e right now. i know i can bring that down to a 14.2 if i could launch better

yes it was on a gsr motor.. the setup was..
stock b18c1 block
stock b18c1 head
skunk2 IM
AEM CAI
DC Sports 4-1 stainless header
2.5" apexi N1 catback
vafc stock fuel, vtec engauge at 5k
if i remember but not sure i think it was retarded 2 degrees but im not postive..
when are you spraying?? i tried a couple different things i found that spraying towards the end of 2nd gear seemed better for traction issues

i'm not spraying yet. i have the zex kit sitting in my closet. i wanted to know if i should use the chipped p28 ecu or get a stock gsr ecu. when i do finally spray, i won't spray until i hit 2nd gear. i'm not going to spray in first gear.
i wonder how much the spray will drop my times also. i'm going to spray probably a 55-65 shot.

Which chip did you get? Theres a few different ones i know hes got.
Its it the 'almost' stock one, or is it the all motor one?

he is correct...
and are you using a new intake manifold w/ that ecu? a p28 will not open the secondarys on a GSR manifold..

i got in touch with kenji, but he didn't say how much timing is advanced. what are most programs timing advancement? does it do it at WOT?
i'm going to retard the timing by 2 degrees.

Re: kenji p28 ecu.....can i use zex with it? (hondaeg8)
i found a guy that can burn the stock .bin file on my chip for me. that should be better for me when spraying right, rather than the chip advancing my timing like it
would now?
would now?
