Default K03 Turbo + ZC DOHC = good combination? I need some help...

I've been thinking about building a turbo setup with a DOHC ZC engine, and a friend of mine is selling a KKK K03 turbo (the one that comes in VW/Audi/SEAT 1.8T engines) in very good condition, for a fair price.

Now, some people have said to me that this turbo is way too small for the powerband of a Honda engine, that it runs out of breath way before redline.

My question is, is this for real? Would the K03 work well with a DOHC ZC running on stock internals?

TIA.

it probably will runout of breathe easily. on a 1.8t the power starts faling off at about 5,500 or 6,000

Mmmm I see. So these people were right after all. Thanks for your input.

Time to begin searching for a 14b or T-25.

The KKK-k03, being a tiny turbo, and a member of kkk's 'low inertia' line of turbos makes for high boost at very low rpms, i.e. super quick spool. It's more of a torque/driveability turbo than a high horsepower snail. It's really nice for daily driveability, but it's not what you want if you want to go real fast. The powerband is very nice, but again -- it's not a top end turbo by any means.
