Just Turboed, No Boost! Please Help Me.
I just Turboed my 01' Prelude H22A4, and Everything is running, no CEL lights, turbo spinning, and Idels fine and drives like normal, but when I go to drive it, I am not getting out of vac, so no boost at all, and it doesn't seem to be that my wastgate is stuck, because I can see the shaft in there, so if anything it would be stuck closed. but please help me figure this out, I have been trying and trying, but no luck, I will list my setup so you know everything, thanks guys.
stock internals, head, tranny. t3/to4e 63a/r, tial 38mm w/ .5 bar spring, log manifold, 3" downpipe with e-cutout, greddy tyre 24 IC, 2.5" IC piping, cartech fmu, walbro 255hp pump, mbc.
also tell me if something is wrong with how my vac lines are routed.
compressor to mbc to side port on tial, the top port of wg atmospheric
fmu to intake manifold, bov to intake manifold, boost gauge to intake manifold.
well thats the info so help me out if you can.

Checked, and everything is tight. oh yeah there is a threaded hole on the top of my intercooler, and i have plugged it and opened it but same affect.
also, wouldn't I see some boost (1-2psi at least) even if I had a leak in the charge piping?

Re: (BB6-213)
with my setup, I found that where the bov was connected, it wasn't securely tightened...gained a psi there lol....then i was still stuck at low boost and figured out that the wastegate crapped out on me so i invested in a boost controller...also, did you check to see if your wg is open at idle?

Yeah I checked all of those, and made sure the bov was tight, and the wastegate is closed at idel, so I have no clue what the deal is. thanks for replying.

But am I right about this, that even if I had a leak, that I would see some boost, right?
also, I have the MBC off right now, because I wanted to see if that was the problem, and still no boost at all.

Usually with a boost leak you will see the boost rise then drop off. You would at least see something. What BOV are you using. Does it have two ports? Is the BOV open wide? HAve you tried disconnecting the vacuum to the wastegate all together to see what happens?

I am using a 1st gen dsm bov, and am running it atmospheric, and I havnt tried disconnecting the vac, would that be bad if it did?
also, the coolant is getting very hot, and I havnt taken it past 4k, so I dont know whats up, and I have the fan hooked up constant.

Re: (BB6-213)
Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks. Just check for black stains along your manifold or anywhere befor the turbo. No exhaust back pressure = no boost.

Re: (c2nap)
well when I first got the turbo on, of course i drove it to see if it would boost, but i have drove the car for like 45mins at a time without boost, and it was overheating, because I knew that it wasn't boosting, and didn't feel like taking it to redline for daily driving because it was overheating bad.
The only boost I have seen was a spike to 5psi for about 1 second, and that was it, thats all I have seen of boost up to 7k, once.
So anybody that can help me, please do.

Re: (ludetech)
Exactley, all I want to do is find the prob and fix it, hopfully it is just something with the wastegate sticking or something, cause I didnt spend all this money to boost it for 5 mins and pop the motor, but I hope I find the problem soon.

Re: (BB6-213)
Maybe your WG spring is screw'd. Is the WG (or turbo) brand new or does it have a few miles on it? Also, do you have the WG lines hooked up to a place where they would see boost? Hope you figure it out, keep us updated.

everything except for the bov and fmu are brand new.
I have a vac line coming off of the compressor, going to the side port on the wastegate, and the top port is open atmospheic
So I'm sure that is the right way to hook up the lines, but I have no clue, because all of the hose clamps are tight, there arn't any exhaust leaks, the turbine is spinning and the wastegate is closed, so I am getting frustrated with this whole deal.
