Just thought I share the equal length manifold I made, be kind this the the first eq lenght one I ma
I know the welds are fat, but since I used a mig welder, I wanted to put big beads on it so it wont crack. I think thats why people give mig a bad name.

very nice,your right those welds aint pretty! but who cares FI aint for pretty boys.im getting a mig welder this thrusday,iwant to do the same type of manifold but for a d16z6,you have any advice for a first time welder? and what kind of turbo is that?14b?

you welded it straight to the turbine housing? that's what i think it looks like...why didn't you just by a flange?

if you notice, there is a vice holding the turbo up. Im assuming hes waiting for his flange because welding steel to a cast turbo housing will NOT hold...
that thing looks like ****, but I bet it works just as good as anything else out there

hey tinker,you seem to know enough about custom fabbed turbo manifolds,can some of the welded material be grinded off to clean up the weld wihout sacrificing durability or strenght?

certainly can. just make sure you penetrated both pieces of metal underneath all of the gunk up-top...if you have to:
weld HUGE.
grind flush,
weld again, try to get a nice bead for looks...
just make sure its sealed...

thanks guys only place i think it looks nasty is the collectors those were a bitch, but now i cleaned it up and painted silver it looks way better now, and i did weld a flange on it it is completly done now. I can weld way better than that i will try to post pics of a e=cutout i just put on a eclipse.
