Just some questons on custom turbo setup, thouhgt I would ask you guys?
I have decide to go with a custom turbo setup insteed of the DRAG 3, when I get enough money. Im planning on going with:
-Max Rev DP, Maniflod, and turbo: $1399.00
-Spearco IC: $450
-Hondata 2b: $645.00
-RC 550s: ???.??
-Walbro fuel pump: $???.??
-tubrosmart large BOV: $169.00
-Tial waistgate: $249.99
-Apex-i turbo timer: $89.10
I will be running this on my stock b18b. Im a little worried about the injector size, I want to get the 550's so I can run more boost when I build my motor, but will it be possible to tune them down to properley run lower boost levels? Also what guages should I purchase? I dont want expensive greddy or apex, are autometers alright, which guages shoud I get? Boost, egt, air/fuel? Where are walbro fuel pumps sold? I can't seem to find them, I heard that they are BBK, are they? Is there anything eles I am missing besides piping? I have so time until I need to make the final decisions, don't have enough money right now. Is there anything I should do to prepair my engine for the turbo? Thanks for any help.

BBk is the same as the walbro pump, same as holley. the 550s will be fine. Get the Tial wastegate from fasttrack motors in NY, fasttrack1320@aol.com. $205 shipped if you tell him you're a HT member.

TurboInteg95: I know you have posted this before, but I forgot, could you post your custom setup and anything I should avoid doing, or any parts you would not suggest getting? What did you do for piping? did you do it all your self?

all my stuff is kinda ghetto, except my wastegate. The piping is just mild steel Ubends that have been cut and welded and painted with some aluminum looking paint. the manifold is the same thing, except it's 1/8 inch thick weldells, also painted with some high temp stuff that doesnt really work. With your setup, you could easily do 10 psi safely, I would set it at 12 if I had that setup. there's some more pictures here. parts I dont recommend: Audi external wastegates from the junkyard, thats'a definite negative.

Ghetto or not, you got a turbo and I dont!!! Im having problems finding autometer guages on the net? also what guages should I buy? I don't want to have a dash full of guages, maybe at the most, 3. Also, would msd sci, blaster 2 coil, msd wires and rotor do well with this setup? What plugs should I run? Im going to try to start buying some of the parts next payday, and try to have it complete in 6 months. pptssshhhhhh

all those parts you mentioned are good. I run ZFR6F-11. one step colder then stock. you can get autometer gauges from summit. Just get boost and A/F ratio.

you should be fine with the 550cc's cause youre getting the hondata. hondata can idle the 550's easily.
