Just rode in a Chevelle with a 454 big block!
Man torque is interesting. This guy drove like crazy. Seat belts didnt latch, tires wouldnt stick, flying all over the place. The experience is quite different from an import, but i can tell you i have been in faster imports. I think it was running waaay goddang rich cause i STINK like gas. overall it was fun but it looked like a labour of love (just like any modified car) and getting 6mpg doesn't seem fun either. but its a total joyride. i couldnt stop laughing as we flew thru rush the traffic.

my friend had a 383 stroker in a chevelle, exactly the same thing you mentioned. The torque was great, car was all over the place, reaked like gas and fumes. No seat belts either...haha. Car was just fun too be in.

thats cool, I love Imports but I still like to get a taste of Domestic power every once in a while, my uncle has a 68' with a 565 big block that runs 9's.......

oh yeh its in a 86 stang..
Torque is nice but I think a Flat 6 turbo @18psi making 450hp in a 2200lb 1976 porche 930 is the greatest thrill ever.. I got to drive that damn car once, half throttle made me wet my pants

You guys should try out a turbo sand rail. These things put out around 300-350 HP and weigh in under 1000 lbs (probably more like 800lbs). The fastest thing I've ever driven and they don't just go straight either.

Guy I work with has a late modell 454 big block chevy dually with a whipple supercharger. that bitch hauls.

Yes it refers to the motor. LS5's and LS6's were engine options that came on the Chevelle that year. With the LS5(454 cid) producing 360HP@5400rpm/500tq@3200rpm and the LS6(454 cid) producting 450HP@5600rpm/500TQ@3600rpm. these figures were suppose to be underrated too.

what is ls-5 or ls-6 refer to? the motor? this was a new crate motor.
