Default just modify stock SOHC manifold???

came across this on ebay...this guy was selling t3 flanged SOHC manifolds with external wastegate welded on...and these were not HF manifolds...one looks like an 88-91 Si manifold and the other looked like 92+, so how come no one just does this??? instead of buying an HF manifold and modding it??

further the guy is located in my town so i figure i could have him just do some work on my manifold and be done with it?? what does everyone think?

I have a modded CX manifold right now. I'm using an internal WG but I plan on putting a flange on the O2 hole in the manifold which I have pluged now as my O2 sensor is in my O2 housing on the 14b.

Cast welding is tricky and expensive thats why no one attemps it. I have mine done at a full blown marine fabrication shop and it was xrayed and inspected for quality.

It works great and the spool time is minumal. I have full boost under 3000rpm. IMHO its way better than a log manifold as the runners don't flow against each other. I'm more than pleased with it.

well the way these manifolds are setup with the wastegate coming out of collector? are these good manifolds to use? opposed to HF manifold?

also by "expensive" what are we talking about to get something like this put together? and if done right would this be a very solid manifold.

i was under the impression that the easy hf turbo manifold fab was more for t25 turbos and requires the use of an interal wastegate..where as i want to run the t3 with external wastegate?

Any problem with the o2 sensor being too close to the "hotspot"?
