Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR
We will post dyno info up tomorrow or friday. Pulls nicely, smooth power band. I would have to guess 225-240 at the wheels. We have another kit in stock here: http://www.diabloautosports.com/prod...oducts_id=2105
We'll also be making a video at the dyno so you can hear it and see it :D [Modified by TypeRdude, 4:16 PM 11/28/2001] |
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
kool im dying to see one in action hurry up and post that....good luck with it

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (PROFILE GSR)
Okay! I want some infos about the setup! How much boost, CR, injector size............and and and
good luck! |
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (austrian ITR)
the parts included in the kit are in the link above. The gsr we installed it on has stock compression, skunk2 manifold, msd6btm ignition, comptech 4-2-1 header, random cat, apexi n1 catback. NGK bkr7e plugs, field vtec controller. I'm looking forward to the numbers as much as everyone and we should have them tomorrow.

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
Just back from the dyno. 223.8hp and 151.8 torque :D
Feels very strong. Lowered vtec from 4400 to 4000. Mod list: skunk2 cam gears, skunk2 intake manifold, msd 6btm, comptech header, random tech cat, apex ws exhaust, field vtec controller. http://www.diabloautosports.com/medi...ortechgsr1.jpg [Modified by TypeRdude, 2:18 AM 12/27/2001] |
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
nice numbers! how much boost?

eh

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (D-SPEED)
7psi, no aftercooler
|
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
No aftercooler.... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmileo.gif I bet you could pick up some more ponies if you got one http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif
|
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TurboIntegra)
we could up the boost to 10 or 12 psi with aftercooler :D
|
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
I heard they are not going to have an aftercooler for the GSR, if not what about an air/air front mount intercooler??
|
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (Cashed EG)
Can't you just put a Skunk2 Manifold on the GSR and put the civic si aftercooler on the supercharger??????

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (112480)
it has a skunk2 manifold already. We checked to see if the si aftercooler would fit, but the charger is located about 2 inches to the right on the gsr to clear the aftercooler. We are working with vortech to get the aftercooler developed for the gsr with skunk2 manifold, type R and ls/rs/gs.

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
Question TYPERDUDE with the cooler on the gsr how much boost can you run when they dvelop one for the gsr? How long is it going to take them to make one? What 1/4mile times did he run with the non-aftercooled kit?

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (112480)
It shouldn't be too long to get the aftercooler developed for the gsr if you have a skunk2 or typeR manifold. All they have to do is some modification to the civic si aftercooler. If you have the gsr manifold still, it may be a little longer since the throttle body sits lower on the engine. The ABS module is in the way on the GSR and they will have to re-route the coolant lines also. With an aftercooler I'm sure it would go 10psi with stock internals, and up to 16 or more with a built motor.
No 1/4 mile times yet since it was just installed last week. It still has the stock clutch too, he's going to be upgrading that very soon :D [Modified by TypeRdude, 3:44 PM 12/12/2001] |
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
TypeRDUDE will the kit with the aftercooler fit on a GSR swap in a 92' Civic CX hatchback??? If you go over 10psi on the kit what internal mods do you recommend on a GSR motor??? Sorry for all these questions.

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (112480)
the kit will fit on a gsr, but there is no aftercooler yet available. I would say once the aftercooler is available it should fit, but no guarantee. Also no more then 10psi on stock internals.

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (112480)
haha quit typing *Power isnt everything....* and just put it in your signature. dont u get tired of typing that over and over?

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (PureTeg420)
SORRY PureTeg420 http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmilep.gif . Thanx for answering my questions TypeRDude, but what internals should I have if I go over 10psi.(Pistons what compression,Rods,Valves,Valve Springs etc..?..)

Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (TypeRdude)
Thanks for the info. Further questions, though: how is the sound? Giant dentist drill or acceptable mechanical goodness? 100% of the time or only on boost?
As a reference point, I'm currently running AEM CAI + Comptech headers & exhaust and it can get obnoxious at times. I know the Vortech eliminates the CAI (big noise source); does the Vortech bump it up further? dB numbers not required but appreciated if you have them. A thumbs up or down would be helpful. Thanks, DoctorBob |
Re: Just installed Vortech supercharger on Integra GSR (DoctorBob)
It sounds good, not as loud as a jackson. At idle you can hear a little gear chatter which makes passers by take a second look, but not very loud at all.
