Default Just getting into the boost scene. I have a Talon T25 turbo. Q's.

Well I have a T25 turbo from a Talon and have a SRT-4 inter cooler lined up. I am looking into running from 7-9psi. I have a stock Z6 with all stock internals. I have read a bunch and I was also told that 7-9psi would be safe for stock internals (looking to run closer to 9psi). Is this true? Also will the SRT-4 inter cooler be the best size for my turbo? If tuned right and done right it should make for a fun daily driver. That's all I am looking for is something fast, fun and fairly reliable. Any help would be great as I am still learning more everyday. Also, what ball park would this setup make for hp? Providing it's tuned well I have came up with 180-190. Am I close or am I way off? Thanks again.

9 psi shouldnt be a problem at all, as long as the motor runs good and doesnt have like, 200,000 miles on it. and in fact, some people with low enough boost levels dont use an intercooler at all. intercoolers are basically used to cool the air charge in order to ward off detonation so you can run more boost. it is advisable though that you use an intercooler and the stock srt-4 intercooler should work nicely for you my friend. just remember, the more boost you push, the more tuning becomes an important factor. above 10 psi you have to be very careful and knowledgable about what your doing

The engine had around 50 000km to 60 000km on it. Piston heads where almost totally clean with just the start of carbon build up on the heads (little patches). Runs very smooth and is lot's of fun. I replaced all gaskets except the head gasket, but it wasn't blown so why mess with it. I haven't got around to adjusting the valves yet, so that this weekend. Everything from timing belt, water pump, oil pan, etc. where all replaced. I am piecing together my turbo setup so I can customize it to my liking. I think the SRT-4 inter cooler will fit better and is a good size for the little turbo. I have read that getting a FMU is a waste of money and hondata, uberdata, etc. (chipped ECU with one of these programs), walbro fuel pump (not sure on the right size), and 450 DSM injectors (from a talon or something) would be the way to go. Are 450cc injectors to big or will it be alright (better to run rich then lean I guess). If I get a tuning program chipped to the ECU, a VAFC or VAFC2 is a must, right? I am a little foggy in this area as far as tuning and fuel management goes. Any additional help would be great. Can anybody suggest a good website that explains turbos and what's needed to run and tune it properly? Like a turbo noob learning site...lol. Thanks again for all the help so far .

Oh, I am also having a hard time finding a exhaust manifold for the T25. It's all T3 and T4, but none for the T25. Will I have to go custom manifold for this?

Bump please . Will my ACT heavy duty pressure plate and performance street/drag dsic hold up to the turbo? ACT say's it's good till 223ft/lbs. I know your not suppost to ask this question but what hp and torque will the Z6 T25 turbo put out at 9psi? Providing it's tuned well and is running full power? Just don't want to discover after the fact that the clutch and pressure plate will not hold.

Uberdata will have no probs running 450cc injectors just like stock provided the injectors are in good shape. BlackCRX sells chipped ECUs and he can give you a program as well to get you running since he's basically got a T3 Z6 map which will run safe on your engine. He runs Crome but hey, it's all free.

HF manifold will work. www.dcpturbo.com <-- they can basically do all the stuff that you need. They did my downpipe and intercooler piping. Andrey also builds custom manifolds and kits and can even fab up intercoolers, whatever.

ACT HD pressure plate and street/drag disc will hold up fine on the street but you'll probably cook it if you go drag racing a lot.

Look for about 180 hp.

it dont really matter how many miles are on it, If the compression is good then its good to boost .

the t25 is a waste of time, get a 14b or a 16g to make good power.

Why, when I am only going to boost to a max of 10 psi. I can't see myself going to 10psi and will stick to 9 psi max. The T25 is right in the range that I am looking for and from what I have seen will be perfect for my application.

Isn't a T25 equal to a 14b?
