Just finished install....couple of questions, please help.
Hey guys, i'll keep it short and simple.
1.) first gear WOT, partial throttle, no matter what, i cant get it to boost past 2psi. why?
2.) second gear pulls best, but i cant boost past 4.5 psi. its an internal wastegate, thats set to its max amount of preload. if i used a mechanical boost controller, will this wastegate be able to see more than 4.5 psi?
3.) whats the easiest way to tell if my couplers/clamps/welds are leaking boost?
B18B w/TD05H-18G 440cc Precision Injectors, JDM LS map on Crome with boost tools and 1 degree retard per psi, BKR7E's at .030...
Thanks !

Re: Just finished install....couple of questions, please help. (sleepingEg8)
where is the vac line for the wastegate connected to?
If its connected to a source off the manifold then i'm out of ideas
If its connected to the compressor housing, then this could be the problem. Not accounting for the pressure drop thru the intercooler
Example - 7psi wastegate - opens at 7 psi on the turbo - pressure drop in the intercooler - shows 4.5 psi in the manifold
If the wastegate vac source isn't off the intake manifold already, try that

this was the problem, along with no preload on the waste gate actuator. i solved it the next day. thanks sleepingeg8 for bringing this back from the dead.
