just bought a 96 hatch gsr turbo
it has spearco intercooler, type s bov, vortech fmu(soon to be dyno tuned and buying hondata),jdm b18c1 44k miles (stock internals) im boosting 5psi and im happy with it but my question is if there are any dyno plots of low psi boosted b18c1's.. im keeping low boost because i want reliablity. the fmu is set to run rich to protech the engine and im also wondering if i should go to 7psi when i tune it depending on what a 5-6psi power is.. and does anyone have any input or guess to hp numbers on this car? thanks
(im a superhonda member and ive been checking out the site very impressed superhonda site went down for awhile so we lost all old posts.. and the clueless ricer population is crazy on that site...alot more tech related articles here)

Boy no kidding. I had a little fun on that site a couple weeks ago. Spent about a week on there, not one single intelligent post popped up in their tech forums.
About your power: Do you know which turbo you are running? Also remember lower boost doesnt necessarily mean more reliability. 5 psi if the setup is done correct expect 220whp-ish.
Welcome to the site.

Re: (b18c1wes)
You can do that on one map. The map plots fuel against RPM/manifold pressure. It's a grid, and you plot your two points (say 8000rpms and 5psi) and in that field there's a fuel value. Same with ignition.
In order to tune for 8psi @ 8000rpms, it would read a different field. See what I'm saying?

honestly, first thing i would do is get the compression tested and a leak down test. People selling a civic HB with a b18c1 and a turbo setup generally arent too kind to their cars.
After that you have an assortment of other problems. with hondata as of right now it still runs off obd1 i believe. i have no idea what obd your engine is. but if it has an obd2 ECU you are going to need to swap down to obd1.
5psi i would say would be 200-220whp and 170tq.
you gotta research before you just get set in you are doing something. for all i know your car is still running stock injectors....there are alot of variables that are unknown, i suggest you find someone local to you that knows about turbo systems and have them check out things. im sure if you go in the classifieds section and offer $25 for someone to just take a look under the hood you will be better off than where you are now.

Well, you don't really have THAT much control over an FMU. Just keep the boost low, and get hondata like you planned. That's your best bet. You can probably get away with about 8-10psi with hondata, no problem... But don't try any of that **** with an FMU.
Good luck!
